Background:
3rd surah, 200 verses. Revealed after Surah Al-Baqarah. Known as twin of Surah Al-Baqarah, because there are a lot of similarities.
Imam Ahmad recorded that Abu Umamah Al-Bahili said that he heard the Messenger of Allah say,”Read the Qur’an, because it will intercede on behalf of its people on the Day of Resurrection. Read the two lights, Al-Baqarah and Al`Imran, because they will come in the shape of two clouds, two shades or two lines of birds on the Day of Resurrection and will argue on behalf of their people on that Day.”
In Surah Al-Baqarah 3 groups have been mentioned: Muttaqin, Kafireen, Munafiqeen. There is mention of Adam (as) born without father and mother, people of the book, the Jews are talked about, and the Surah ends with dua.
In Surah Ali’Imran: There is mention of Isa (as) born without father, the Nasara (the Christians) are mentioned and it ends with dua. First 83 verses were revealed when a Christian delegation arrived in Madinah and asked about the principles of Islam.
Why is it called A’li Imran – the followers of Imran? Because the House of Imran is mentioned in this chapter. Imran was the father of Maryam Al. (Mary). The 1st part of A’li Imran deals specifically with Christian doctrine. The first verses up to verse 83 were revealed in connection with the Christian delegation called Najran who came to Madinah and had a dialogue with Prophet Muhammad (saw) in 9th year of Hijrah pertaining to Christianity and Islam. Najran is situated in the Northern parts of Yemen and to the South of Mecca and took a day to ride in. Najran comprised of 73 villages. Great leaders of Christianity came to find out about Islam. The delegation comprised 60 men 24 of who were nobles and 3 of these 24 had been leaders of Najran. Prophet Muhammad (saw) had a dialogue with them and these verses were revealed – so the verses are about the nature of Islam, the nature of Tawhid and he recited these verses to them.
Al -family or followers.
Imran – maternal grandfather of Isa (as) (father of Isa’s mother)
Ayah 1:
-
Alif Laam meem
-
disjointed letters, read separately
-
through these letters Arabs are being reminded that they claim to be masters of the Arabic language yet nobody can imitate the Quranic words and style
-
Not any God in reality except for Allah. No God worthy of worship besides Him
-
iLah- the one everyone turns to and worships. There is no diety except Him
-
He is the only One worthy of worship
-
Al-Hayy- ever living. He is living and gives life. Does not die. He is everliving
-
Al-Qayyum-He is established on His own. He established and establishes others.
-
Al –Hayy and Al-Qayyum together constitute the Greatest Name of Allah- ismul Azam and if you call Allah by these two names He will respond to the dua of this person
-
Prophet sal. said that Allah’s greatest name is in three verses in the Quran i.e.Ayat-ul-Qursi (2:255), Al-Imran (3: 1&2) and Taha (20:111)
-
During the Battle of Badr when the Muslims were few and the Kuffar were many more in numberAli (Rali) found the Prophet Sal. in Sajda imploring, beseeching, calling out to Allah “Ya Hayyum, Ya Qayyum” asking for His help and mercy.
-
when facing any stress in life you immediately turn to a person a friend, family member etc. And sometimes they are not available. Allah is always available, He has no needs. We should turn immediately to Him in times of difficulty and stress. Rely on Him only.
-
He is the one who sent down the Book, the Quran.
-
This is the Book of Allah.
-
He revealed it to Muhammad (saw) gradually. Gradually so that it can me retained and understood. gradually so that it was valued more. Revealed over 23 years. Revealed in Truth.
-
It was revealed the way it was supposed to be revealed.
-
No doubt it is from Allah
-
confirms that this is from Allah. confirms what was in the previous books as well. Before the Quran.
-
and He revealed the Torah (to Musa) and Injil ( Isa.) ( greek origin, means good news) as well.
-
Guidance in which there is transformation for the people.
-
For the people of that time. of that era.
-
He sent down the Furqaan- The criteria. The Quran.
-
He has made clear the Truth.
-
Furqaan distinguishes between right and wrong.
-
And there are those who cover or disbelieve, or reject the verses of Allah.
-
Indeed for these is a severe punishment bc of the severity of their crime
-
A big great punishment
-
(descriptions of the punishment)-Tree of Zaquum is food for the sinful. S. Dukhan 43-44 S.Nisa 56.
-
He is possessor of revenge or retribution.
-
Realize this before the time is up
-
and Allah is Exalted in Might, the Owner of Retribution. • No one can overcome him• No can take revenge• He will punish the criminals
-
Nothing is hidden from Him. In the earth or in the sky. Not a speck
-
He is the one Who arranges for guidance for people
-
He makes the arrangement for guiding people
-
We should mold our lives according to His words and His guidance.
-
Read and live according to it, the Quran
-
He shapes and fashions you as He wills.
-
In the wombs.
-
In multiple layers, in the wombs.
-
He makes the fetus.
-
He makes everyone differently, variety.
-
Happens in layers of darkness, in the mothers womb.
-
Nobody but Him decides the features of the child that is being molded inside. He decides how you will look.
-
He has perfect wisdom, and full authority.
-
He is the one who sent down to you the Book.
-
In it are verses that are clear and precise.
-
Firm and cannot be misinterpreted.
-
these ayah they are the foundation of the book. they have commands.
-
And there are other verses/ayahs that are similar and and not entirely clear, unspecific.
-
There are clear commandments that we understand – like Hajj and fasting, historical events.
-
And there are ayahs about the hereafter or the unseen, or rizq of Jannah, Arhse , etc – These are matters of unseen.
-
Our knowledge is limited so we dont completely understand them all the time.
-
As for the people whose hearts there is deviated they will misinterpret the verses that are unclear, so that they can cause fitnah. They seek to misguide and cause corruption. seeking discord. To cause confusion.
-
They are looking for a meaning that suits them.
-
And those who are deeply grounded in Knowledge, they see we believe in the ayah that are unclear, we believe in the unseen. All of it is from our Allah. :
-
-
students of knowledge
-
scholars
-
speak the truth.
-
-
Prophet Sal. was asked who are the people firmly grounded in knowledge and he said:
-
-
One who fulfills his promise;
-
does not swear false oaths
-
His tongue utters the truth
-
His heart is steadfast(firm)
-
One who protects his stomach (does not eat haram)He does not consume wealth unlawfully One who protects the chastity of his private parts(does not commit Zinah)Such are the firmly grounded in knowledge
-
-
Ali rali said that the Prophet sal said:The good scholar is one who when people seek to gain knowledge from him, he tells them what is correct and does not show arrogance , bad character or bias in telling the truth, if people do not show him difference he does not complain and he does not compromise for the sake of others on dheen and he does not demand the respect of others rather he trusts, relies on Allah”•
-
These are the rasikoona Fil ilm——firmly grounded in knowledge. steadfast. Firmly rooted.
-
Let our hearts not deviate after You have guided us.
-
DuA here to be made for the soundness of heart
-
Oh our Rabb, dont deviate our hearts after You have guided us. And grant us from near You, Mercy.. Indeed you are the Bestower.
-
this duA is asking Allah not to let us deviate after He has already guided us. Dont let us waiver away from the Truth.
-
Not to have a casual attitude. To focus on the direction towards Deen. Take role as student of knowledge seriously.
-
Guide us to understanding the Book correctly
-
Grant us mercy, allowing us to remain steadfast here. So that we reach the right destination
-
Bestower. The one who gives, without expecting anything in return.
-
Umm Salama said Prophet sal. used to read this dua alot:Ya Muqallibul Quloobi, sabbith Qalbi, Alaa DheenikaO turner of hearts, turn my heart towards your Dheen
-
Majority is not authority.
-
Quranic and masnun Duas pg 23 Dua no. 5-6
-
our Day of meeting Allah is fixed.
-
Here we can postpone or cancel appointments in this world. We prepare for important meetings.
-
Time of death cannot be delayed. It cannot be postponed.
-
We need to prepare for that meeting.
-
Those who disbelieve, never will their wealth or children, save them from Allah
-
Sometimes due to wealth and children, due to love for it, people forget their responsibilities and duties towards Allah
-
these will not be able to save you.
-
Such people who are engrossed in their wealth and children. People would think they would not be punished due to all the wealth and children they had. They would be deceived and arrogant.
-
This wealth and children will not benefit a person on dOJ. Unless the person was righteous and used the wealth in the right way and grew righteous children.
-
and it is they who are fuel o the hellfire. The people will be the fuel. forever. Punishment will not decrease.
-
their habit of disbelieving and consequences is like the people of the pharaoh
-
and all those who were before them, who also disbelieved.
-
They denied the signs, and so Allah seized them for their sins.
-
and Allah is severe in penalty. Nobody can escape His grasp.
-
Say to those who disbelieve you: (prophet Muhammad) Soon you will be overcome by the upper hand
-
and all will gather from all their places.
-
To hell
-
How evil and bad is this resting place- Hell.
-
After the Prophet Sal. migrated to Madinah after the Battle of Badr he addressed the Banu Qaynuqa and said “Oh Jews, beware of Allah afflicting you as He did with Quraysh, and so accept Islam , you will know that I am a prophet sent with a mission and you will find that to be so in your book and in Allah’s pact with you” They said in Response “Do not delude yourself Muhammed, just because some naive fools have entered your fold, should you ever fight against us you will test our mettle as men of valor”
-
this is not specific to any one group
-
this is a general understanding. for those who recognize the Truth and reject . this is a reminder for them.
-
There is already been a sign for you when the Battle of Badr happened.
-
One group with 300-muslims, and the other group of the Quraysh- 1000
-
There is a sign for you in the two groups that met. during this battle
-
One believes in Allah and the other denies the truth.
-
Group of believers is striving towards Allah
-
Each group saw the other as twice in number by their eyesight.
-
The disbelievers saw the believers as double their own number. even though it was 1000 to 300. they were seeing them as 2000. disbelievers were seeing the believers as double the number. This was the special mercy of Allah.
-
the Muslims saw the disbelievers as double their own number as well. they were 300, and saw the disbelievers as 600 only. when they were actually 1000. They were seeing the disbelievers in less than what they really are. saw as 600 but actually are 1000. so the muslims were fighting with more confidence. they were firm
-
The disbelievers were scared and disheartened and nervous.
-
real power belongs to Allah
-
Small means of people can be a benefit and great service for the Deen if they are sincere.
-
And large means of people can useless for Deen, if they lack sincerity
-
Allah gives His help and support to whom He wills.
-
These are lessons for the those who possess insight. vision.
-
Believers• On the believers side there were 70 Muhajiroon and 270 from the Ansaar• They had 70 camels, 2 horses, 6 shields and 8 swords
-
Disbelievers• 950 men, 100 horses, and 700 camels
-
And still the believers won.
-
Great sign of the power and might of Allah.
-
Battle of Badr, 151-157 When the Moon Split.
-
7 things mentioned that people love in this world
-
Woman is made beatified.
-
Love and desire of these things have been made beautified. Made attractive.
-
desire for these things.
-
You love the things you own. to be in love with the idea of love.
-
Love of desires doesn’t ever go away.
-
love and desire have been placed around us to test us. The attraction for them is place in the heart.
-
Dont get lost in the creation. Look beyond and to the Creator.
-
So the love of the desire of things has been made beautiful
-
Women for example: have been beautified. Some men will marry just to fulfill desires to have the woman and children. to fulfill the desires of their. But this is wrong. Bc women have rights too. they should not be for just fulfilling desires. must respect and fulfill her rights.
-
Prophet Sal. said :“I did not leave behind me a test more tempting to men than women”
-
Prophet Sal. said :«حُبِّبَ إِلَيَّ النِّسَاءُ وَالطِّيبُ، وَجُعِلَتْ قُرَّةُ عَيْنِي فِي الصَّلَاة»Amongst your dunya I was made to like Women &Perfume, & the comfort of my eye is the Prayer
-
this is balance of Mumin.
-
after women is mentioned children/sons. Some people have an extreme desire to have sons or children. Some will commit shirk to have them. And want them to just show to the world how many kids they have. Especially sons. This is the way of the ignorant. The Arabs used to have this approach. Jahiliyah.
-
This is a huge test. TO be satisfied with what Allah gives you in children and gender of kids.
-
And then heaped up treasures. So some are so obsessed with accumulating wealth. due to greed and lack of prioritizing
-
Heaped up gold and silver. Desire more and more and more of it. This has been made beautified.
-
And then Horses. beautiful horses. fine branded. Horses have been always valued. people desire them. Especially for races. Their price goes in millions. Branded horses or swift horses is symbolic to branded cars or swift transportation in today’s world• In today’s world people want to have the latest models, the most luxurious cars – branded cars and sometimes several cars, competing with others for the best, status symbol, showing off, power of money.
-
and then Cattle. Red camels were desired by the arabs back in the days. they were very valued. and more expensive.
-
and tilled Land. People are very proud of the land they own. just to have it. to show it off.
-
Sahl bin Sa`d (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (PBUH) said to `Ali (May Allah be pleased with him),”By Allah, if a single person is guided by Allah through you, it will be better for you than a whole lot of red camels.”
-
that is all the temporary enjoyment of the worldly life.
-
Allah has the best abode.
-
these things are fine in moderation and only what is needed. But the desires to have more and more and more is wrong.
-
these are all blessings but they are a test for us all. Use it as an investment for the akhirah.
-
Prophet Sal. said :«الدُّنْيَا مَتَاعٌ، وَخَيْرُ مَتَاعِهَا الْمَرْأَةُ الصَّالِحَة»This life is a delight, and the best of its delight is a righteous wife
-
children can be sadaqatun Jariya.
-
give zakat on the treasures you have.
-
-
ajr
-
satoor
-
wizr- burden
-
-
Branded horses – there are 3 types of horses (or today transportation)01. That mount which is a source of pride . The mount which is used to run errands – uses his horse or car as conveyance The mount that used in the way of Allah – for spreading the dheen
-
The mount which is used to run errands – uses his horse or car as conveyance • Another type collects horses to fulfill their needs and to collect their offspring, and they do not forget Allah’s right due on their horses.
-
The mount that used in the way of Allah – for spreading the dheen• Sometimes, owners of horses collect them to be used in the cause of Allah, and when warranted, they use their horses in battle. This type of owner shall be rewarded for this good action.
-
So the dua we make :Rabbana athina fid-dunya hasana, wa fil-akhirathi hasana, wa qinar azaaban-naarO our Lord give us good in this world and in the Hereafter good and save us from the torment of the fire
-
earn more and more for the Akirah, not for this world.
-
everything has its rights: women, children, wealth, cars, properties. we have needs for these things. they should be acquired properly and right ways and then used for the right things. these things must be used for the right things, given their rights. but having attraction for it wrongfully or too much where it diverts you from Allah and towards His path. that is wrong.
-
this world on one side and what Allah has is on the other side.
-
Qanatheer (pl.) Qinthaar (sing.) = ق ن ط ر• It is basically used for when something is heaped up, layered• It is used for heaps and piles of wealth, money, property• Basically its used for a large sum• Qanthara same root, bridge and also tall building• Primary In the root you get the meaning of Height• A bridge is high, a tall building is high• Similarly piled up wealth is high• Qinthaar is used for a unit of money or unit of weighto According to some it was used for something around 100 kg = 1 Qinthaaro According to Said bin Jubair approx. 100,000 dinar is one QinthaarHere Allah says, Qanaathir – multiplies of QinthaarMuqanthara = The one that is accumulated, heaped up• The word is used to emphasize how its piled up
-
• Zuyyina = It was adorned, it was embellished, it was beautified = ز ى ن• To Adorn, to beautify• It’s from the word Zain = to be beautiful • Zain is from Zeena and Zeena means beauty• Generally Zeena applies to apparent and physical beauty• Zuyana is from thazyeen and thazeen is to make something beautiful, to make something attractiveo When something has been done thazyeen of it appears to be beautiful to someone and it could be a thing that is beautiful – it could be a sound that one hears and finds beautiful, a pot that someone thinks is beautiful it could be a person that one thinks beautiful, it could be music that one thinks beautiful• Zeena or thazeen its not necessary that the object that appears to be beautiful to a person is necessarily beautiful (eg. you might think something is beautiful but someone might not think so)
-
Meaning of Hubbush shahawath• Love for desires is made very attractiveShahwathi (pl) = Shahwa (sing.) = ش ه و• A strong desire, a greed, a craving for something• Shahwa is what the soul naturally desires• What the nafs naturally inclines towards it and also the nafs finds it pleasurable• Shahwa is used for a very strong desire• Ishthihaa is used for hunger There are 2 types of desiresShahawath Sadiqa = The Natural DesiresWhy is it called Sadiqa? = Because it is alright to fulfill them according to halal ways (eg. you are hungry you eat something which is ok)Shahwaath Kaziba Why Kaziba? = They must be avoided, because they are not halal
-
Annisaa = ن س و• Nisaa (pl) = Niswa (pl) and it is a Jammul Jamm meaning plural of plural• For plural words we have the singular form• But for the word Nisaa there’s no singular form• For one woman the word Imra’a is used Baneen = ب ن ى• To construct, to build• A child is constructed by his parents (character building)• Ibn is generally used for a son but when it’s in its plural form its not restricted to a son alone it refers to children• Literally both are relevant
-
do you want to be informed of something that is better for you? than that: ( the zeenah of this world)?
-
there is smt better
-
people think that they have it all from Ayah 14. but there is smt better
-
for those who Fear Allah.
-
Near there Allah are gardens with rivers flowing.
-
Those who used the things in this world to get closer to Allah. they will be close to Allah.
-
Who is this Jannah prepared for?• Those who fear Allah, those who have Taqwa• Those who live in this world and use the blessings but work for the Hereafter
-
Janaatt has 100 levels. distance between each is like traveling 100 years. ?
-
Hadith narrated by Bukhari“In Paradise there is a tree whose shade is so vast that a rider can travelfor a 100 years in its shade”
-
Abdullah bin `Amr bin Al-`As Rali. reported: The Prophet (PBUH) said,”The one who was devoted to the Qur’an will be told on the Day of Resurrection: `Recite and ascend (in ranks) as you used to recite when you were in the world. Your rank will be at the last Ayah you recite.”’ [Abu Dawud and At-Tirmidhi].
-
Ayesha Rali. said that this means that the levels of Jannah equals the number of Ayat in the Quran
-
Hadith narrated by Bukhari:“In Paradise there are two gardens the utensils and contents of which are made of silver and two other gardens the utensils and contents of which are made of gold and nothing will prevent their inhabitants from seeing their Lord except the curtain of Majesty over His Face”
-
In another hadith Prophet sal. was asked about the buildings of Paradise and he replied :“Bricks of gold and silver and mortar of fragrant musk, pebbles of pearl and sapphire and soil of saffron”
-
And purified spouses, for both. (husbands and wives) external and internally clean and purified and beautified. There will be no friction, no animosity, no problems. women will get what they desire and men will get what they desire.
-
Prophet Sal. said :“Whoever enters Paradise is blessed with a life of joy he will never feel miserable, his clothes will never wear out and his youth will never fade away”
-
Narrated Abu Said Al-Khudri:Allah’s Apostle said. “Allah will say to the people of Paradise. ‘O the people of Paradise!’ They will say. ‘Labbaik O our Lord and Sa’daik!’ Allah will say. ‘Are you pleased?” They will say. ‘Why should we not be pleased since You have givenus what You have not given to anyone of Your creation?’ Allah will say. ‘I will give you something better than that.’ Theywill reply. ‘O our Lord! And what is better than that?’ Allah will say. ‘I will bestow My pleasure and contentment upon you so that I will never be angry with you after for-ever.’ “Volume 8. Book 76. Number 557
-
When a person departs from this world while pleasing Allah, Allah will be pleased with him on the Day of Judgment and He will never be angry with them ever again
-
pleasure from ALlah
-
And Allah sees everything. Seeing of His servants. knows and sees what His creations are doing.
-
Allah is pleased
-
Allah is pleased with those: who have believed, in whose hearts have correct creed. Declare at the level of the tongue that they believe.
-
so they say forgive us and save us from punishment of the Hellfire.
-
ImAAN creates realization of mistakes committed and makes you ask for forgiveness from Allah.
-
O Allah! Forgive me all my sins, whether few or numerous, those of the present and the Past, those committed openly or secretly
-
-
those who endure with patience.
-
Prophet Sal. said :There are 7 whom Allah will shade in His Shade on the Day when there is no shade except His. And one of these people is a man who is called by a woman of beauty and position to commit illegal sexual intercourse and this man says “I fear Allah”
-
Saadiqh: sidq. whatever that is in his heart is on his tongue is same. there is no contradiction between the two. true to Allah and true to people and true to themselves.
-
Those who are constantly obedient with humility. consistency in worship.
-
Those who spend in the way of Allah. Those who spend. They are giving and not hoarding. they dont keep everything for themselves. Spend in moderation, not excessively or extravagantly.
-
and those who seek forgiveness before dawn.
-
Narrated Abu Huraira: Prophet Sal. said :”Our Lord, the Blessed, the Superior, comes every night down on the nearest Heaven to us when the last third of the night remains, saying: “Is there anyone to invoke Me, so that I may respond to invocation? Is there anyone to ask Me, so that I may grant him his request? Is there anyone seeking My forgiveness, so that I may forgive him?”
-
Allah witnesses that there is no diety except Him
-
Angels bare witness that He maintains the justice. a just system
-
there is no Ilah except Him
-
Most honorable, most dominant, most mighty.
-
Prophet Sal. said ;”Do you know who is the one who is bankrupt?” They said, ‘The bankrupt is the one who has no money and no possessions.’ He said, ‘Among my Ummah, the one who is bankrupt is the one who will come on the Day of Resurrection with prayer and fasting and Zakah (to his credit), but he will come having insulted this one, slandered that one, consumed the wealth of this one and shed the blood of that one, and beaten that one. So they will all be given some of his hasanaat, and when his hasanaat run out, before judgment is passed, some of their sins will be taken and cast onto him, then he will be cast into the Fire.'” (Muslim: 4/1998, Hadith no. 2581)
-
Duas that will be accepted: father’s, traveler’s, oppressed
-
those who were given the scriptures. did not differ until knowledge crept it.
-
out jealousy and animosity.
-
had scriptures but then disputed and differed due to jealousy envy and animosity. divided into different groups.
-
this was the bani Israel.
-
Allah is swift in His account
-
advice given to Prophet Muhammad (saw)
-
dont prolong the debate or dispute.
-
say i have Submitted my face to Allah. complete submission. my face my direction for Allah
-
Follow My way.
-
invite the illiterate and unlettered to Islam.
-
and if they turn away then your duty is only to convey. (prophet Muhammad)
-
and Allah is seeing of His servants.
-
Those who are killed when inviting towards the right path.
-
Those who kill the messengers the scholars, the ones who are inviting others to the right path. For those who are killing them, give them good tidings, of a very painful punishment
-
those are they whose deeds will be useless and wasted. who show off, do it for wrong intentions.
-
in this world and the hereafter.
-
and for them are no helpers.
-
Did you not consider? do you not see?
-
the group that was given the Scripture.
-
A certain portion of it. was given to the Jew scholars. Those with partial or superficial knowledge of the scriptures. they were given just a portion of it.
-
In madinah: there were many groups. Among them were the Jews. Even though they had the message and the scriptures, but still did not accept Islam, the final message from Prophet Muhammad.
-
So can you believe their behavior. they were given a part of the knowledge. by Allah.
-
Knowledge of Deen is given by Allah. Specifically knowledge of Deen. He gives wisdom to whom He wills. The source of knowledge is Him.
-
Rabbis were invited. towards the Quran, the last of the Divine book. They had knowledge already. They had only a portion of the Scripture and needed more knowledge. so they were invited to the Quran. the knowledge that they did have, alterations had been made to it. The Quran was sent to fix those changes. You have turn to this Book the Quran for guidance.
-
Any person who has knowledge of the Quran, the Book. and then are invited to ponder about it more, should thinking this a matter of pride or hurting their pride. should not be arrogant in thinking you know enough.
-
this is how the jews thought then. this is how Muslims think today. thinking we know enough, we don’t need to learn or know more.
-
so the Quran was also sent to be a judge between their disputes and arguments.
-
Their books had been altered. Injil, Torah etc. so they needed the Quran to do the rectification, for reform, to judge and settle their dispute, and misunderstandings.
-
but then a portion of them (scholars) the proud and arrogant ones, turned away. turning away physically and at the level of the heart. Were denying the Truth
-
They had a tendency to hide, deny and turn away from the Truth.
-
When the truth is presented, we should be attentive inwardly and outwardly. Inside the heart and physically. we should be accepting.
-
The reason for inviting towards the Book/the Truth, so that peoples lives change for the better in the light of the Quran and Sunnah.
-
Many say ignorance is bliss. less you know, less you have to implement. So they turn away and try to stay away. But they will be accounted for it.
-
Desires make people blind.
-
Think about what we give value to: health, nutritious and stylish. (like when we eat, clothing, home decor,)
-
Our lives should be according to the whole Quran. we should focus on the entire Book, not just one part.
-
Their aversion, is because they say the fire will never touch us. thats what they think. for just a few days it will touch us.
-
this is their delusion. their religion deceived them. they were inventing these things.
-
they were innovations, false practices. they had made up this stuff.
-
some people are deluded by their deeds. Thinking we pray this much, so we are going to heaven.
-
due to showing off, reminding others, hurting others, – these deeds are useless. they think the deeds they are doing are enough to get them into heaven, But how do we know the deeds will be even accepted by Allah.
-
they were deluded by what they were inventing.
-
for ex someone says that if you wake up and say this duA you will go to heaven. but where is the proof? in Quran? in Sunnah?
-
cannot make stuff up! these are the delusions. these are the false hopes.
-
the Sahaba were not just after certain deeds. they didn’t just stop after a certain amount.
-
dont be satisfied with what you have done. dont have just wishful thinking about the Akhirah.
-
So how will it be when We assemble them for a Day?
-
How will it be on that Day? How will they be? what state will they be in?
-
about that Day which there is no doubt about its occurrence. no denial of that day
-
everyone, every soul will be compensated for what they earned. in full. reward will only be given to someone if they did something to earn it.
-
Do what you are doing to please Allah, only!
-
And they will not be wronged. Good deeds won’t be reduced. Bad deeds won’t be increased. you won’t be held accountable unjustly for someone else’s wrong deeds.
-
Allah is not unjust. He does injustice to NOBODY.
-
On the authority of Abu Dharr al-Ghifaaree (radiAllaahu anhu) from the Prophet (sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam) from his Lord (‘azza wa jall) that He said: O My servants ! I have forbidden dhulm (oppression) for Myself, and I have made it forbidden amongst you, so do not oppress one another (Muslim)
-
Allah gives sovereignty to whom He wills. His decision.
-
He gives and takes away leadership, kingdomship, to and from whom He wills.
-
There were some that didn’t accept islam in madina. they were the Jews. they were afraid they would lose their leadership.
-
Context of Revelation of this ayah
-
-
• When the Prophet Sal. migrated to Madinah, many people accepted Islam in Madinah
-
• And many didn’t – especially the Scholars of Bani Israel
-
• They did not accept due to fear of losing their leadership and authority that they have to accept him as their leader
-
• This is the reason when they were called to the Book of Allah, they turned away
-
-
Who is the owner of Honor. He is.
-
An Arab Poet says “When you take a Janaza to the grave know that you will be next, so take a lesson from this”
-
we get so lost in the glamour of certain roles, thinking it will last forever. Sometimes it gets to their head. Makes they arrogant and proud.
-
Eg. Abu Bakr and Umar Rali. after leadership they become even more humble
-
Leadership was taken away from the Bani Israel and given to the muslims.
-
He exalts who He wills. He humiliates whom He wills.
-
All good is in the hands of Allah.
-
Iman brings with it honor.
-
judgement is not gonna be based on world records, it will be based on our records of deeds. our books of deeds.
-
The Prophet said:”No believer may humiliate himself”. When he was asked how any person would humiliate himself, he said: “By exposing himself to risks with which he cannot cope”Narrated by Ibn Majah, Ahmad and Al-Tirmizi following Huzayfa.
-
Some things are a means of humiliating and bring disgrace to a person that is Ujub- Wishful thinking
-
Allah, you cause the day into the night, and certain parts of night enter the day. sometimes days are longer, sometimes the nights are longer.
-
Meaning those who have honor today can be disgraced tomorrow. Like the Bani Israel. Like the Quraish, Like the Muslims. the situations can turn and completely flip. Honor to disgraced. and disgrace to the honored.
-
And He brings forth the living from the dead. And the dead from the living. A believer is alive spiritually. due to light of faith in the heart. and vice versa of the disbeliever. ignorance is death. knowledge is life.
-
Knowledge revives barren hearts.
-
And only Allah can do this.
-
And He gives rizq/provision to whom He wills without account. without expecting or taking anything in return.
-
Owner of life, honor and provision is Allah
-
people sometimes avoid coming towards Deen, bc they fear lack of provision or funds. Fear lack of wealth and popularity if they turn towards Deen and Quran.
-
Hatib Ibn Abi Balta’ah was in Madinah and his wife and children in Makkah
-
Prophet announced that they were going to attack Makkah so Hatim fearing that his family will be killed sent a letter to the Quraysh in Makkah that the Muslims were going to attack. He did this because he feared for his wife and children
-
Do not leave the believers, and take protection from the disbelievers. Dont take friends or protection or allies of the disbelievers, and leave the believers.
-
And whoever does that, has nothing with Allah. Allah is not pleased with him. this person doesn’t get friendship from Allah. this person is not following the correct teachings.
-
If you fear your life, you may show outwardly friendship, but never a close wali.
-
Dont sacrifice your Deen for this Dunya
-
But this doesn’t mean to hate the disbelievers.
-
Compassion and well wishing, this outwardly nice and good acts is allowed towards the non believers. Be good with people you deal with. Serve them if they come to your home. speak kindly and politely to them.
-
Trade dealings, business, doctors, teachers, your employees, this is all allowed and ok.
-
relationship dealing with close ties, affecting your Deen, this relationship you cannot have with the non believers. dont take them as intimates.
-
Levels of interaction:
-
-
Muwassat: well wishing in the heart for everyone, same feelings and politeness for all disbelievers and believers
-
Mudaaraat: to be good to be people while interacting with them at one and one level. have good manners with them one on one.
-
Mu-amaalaat: bus driver, doctors, specialist. these can be non muslim, and we can go to them.
-
Mu’alaat: close intimate friendship, relationship. this should be only with muslims. bc they influence you. forbidden with non believers.
-
-
Nothing is hidden from Allah.
-
we should reform our hearts.
-
The Day every soul will find what it has done of good.
-
and all evil that he or she has done.
-
wrongdoer deeds will be exposed in front of everyone
-
the evil the sinner, the wrongdoer will wish they were far away from the evils they did. that there is a far distance from the evil they did.
-
Allah warns you of this. to be cautious of your actions.
-
Allah is the most affectionate and merciful
-
IF you love Allah, than follow me ( Prophet Muhammad)
-
Ayat ul Mihla. : its a test, like a checklist.
-
prove it, prove the love for Allah, by following Prophet Muhammad.
-
If you love Allah, love and follow Prophet Muhammad.
-
if you claim you love Him, you will be tested. Follow prophet Muhammad. so that Allah will love you.
-
And He will forgive your sins.
-
He will love you and forgive your sins.
-
*Sahl ibn ‘Abdullah said, “The sign of the love of Allah is love of the Qur’an. The sign of love of the Qur’an is love of the Prophet. The sign of love of the Prophet is love of the sunnah. The sign of love of the sunnah is love of the Next World. The sign of love of the Next World is hatred for this world. The sign of hatred for this world is that you do not store up any of it except for provision and what you need to arrive safely in the Next World.
-
• Sahaba would followed his sunnah so much that they would do virtually every action he did – especially Abu Bakr Rali., Umar Rali and his son Abdulla Ibn Umar e.g Abdullah ibn Umar took the same route prophet sal took
-
Obey Allah and His messenger.
-
But if they turn away, then indeed Allah doesn’t love the disbelievers.
-
Allah’s Messenger, sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam, said: “If Allah loves someone He calls (angel) Jibreel and says: I love so-and-so, so you love him. Jibreel loves him, and calls the other angels in Heaven to love that person. They love him, then his love will be made upon earth, and he becomes loved.
-
Prophet Sal. said,“everyone of my Ummah will enter Jannah except those who refuse.” The people asked “who will refuse?” and Prophet Sal. said : “whoever obeys me enters Jannah and whoever disobeys me, he has refused.”
-
Allah chose Adam, Noah, family of Ibrahim and family of Imran, over the worlds.
-
some were preferred/chosen. this was them.
-
chose some for leading, messenger ship, etc.
-
Adam: told angels to prostrate to him, taught him words, gave him intellect, gave him best clothing, allowed him to reside in paradise, when he made a mistake he allowed him to repent. accepted repentance and then guided him. was sent to dunYa. as a guide, and first man.
-
Noah: he was chosen too. blessed with a very long life. 950 years. prophet hood at 40. So he lived for about 1000 years. he strove towards abolishing idols. Flood was sent, bc nobody was listening to him. So all people drowned except a few of his followers which were saved and continued the human race. S. Saffat 76-77. He was second Adam. Progeny then continued through him
-
Family of Ibrahim: Al- family, followers. Ibrahim he was the friend of Allah. that was his title. He was chosen by Allah, as a leader. His family was also chosen. most number of messengers came from his family. last being Muhammad (saw).
-
Family of Imran: Imran there are two beliefs. One Imran was father of Musa (as). And some say another was grandfather of Isa (as), father of Marya, (as). Imam of Bait-ul-Maqdis. The second view is stronger and majority. that he was father of Maryam (as)
-
Number of years between Isa (as) and Musa (as) was 1800 years
-
s Qasas 68
-
over the worlds.
-
Not all children of Adam are the same. everyone has different scales, and abilities, skills, and talents.
-
Some have been chosen for the Deen, and that is more virtuous than anything else.
-
Prophet hood ended with Muhammed Sal. BUT The mission is still alive – so ask Allah to choose you for His work. ‘Those who are best in the period of Jahiliya are best in the dheen”
-
those who are understanding the Deen, are chosen.
-
Make Dua to Allah that He choses you for His work, to spread the Deen. If you are the one who chosen for this work, thank Allah.
-
descendants are all related to each other at some level.
-
humans are from humans.
-
theory of evolution says humans are from apes. but we learn here that humans are from humans.
-
all are of humans.
-
in terms of character and habits, they are similar.
-
Musa (as) and Isa (as) were 1800 years in between. but still habits and messages were the same.
-
Allah hears and knows everything.
-
Allah heard the duA of the wife of Imran, mother of Maryam- Hannah.
-
when the wife (Hannah) of Imran said: My rabb i have pledged to you without conditions, to You, for Your service. What ever is in my womb. She is free and liberated from the worldly requirements to serve your Deen. She is liberated from the distractions of the dunYa. for Your worship. So accept this from me. You are the always hearing and always seeing
-
Hannah bint Faqudh: she was a very pious woman who wanted a child. didn’t have them for a long time. eventually she conceived. during her pregnancy this time her husband died.
-
Story of Maryam Al. mother Muhammad bin Ishaq mentioned that: Hannah could not have children and that one day, she saw a bird feeding its chick. She wished she could have children and supplicated to Allah to grant her offspring. Allah accepted her supplication, and she became pregnant. She vowed to make her child concentrate on worship and serving Bayt Al-Maqdis (the Masjid in Jerusalem), when she became aware that she was pregnant. O my Lord! I have vowed to You what is in my womb to be dedicated for Your services, so accept this from me. Verily, You are the All-Hearer, the All-Knowing.’’ Her husband passed away while she was expecting and she became a young widow. Consider her dilemma, loneliness, insecurity and overpowering grief. How would she feel about her baby but all that this woman says is “O my Lord! I have vowed to You what is in my womb to be dedicated for Your services, so accept this from me. Verily, You are the All-Hearer, the All-Knowing.”
-
Losing her spouse while pregnant: was devastating for her surely. But rather than saying that this child will now take care of me.
-
Rather than keeping the most dearest thing for herself now, she pledged and sacrificed it for Allah. it was selfless act. And very humble thing to do
-
I give this child for your service.
-
Allah loved this act SO much.
-
All does not waste the reward of a doer of good. of A mohsin. A woman or man, doesn’t matter.
-
the Quran was revealed so much later than this, She didn’t know this would be in the Quran and that people would be reciting this later.
-
She had a sincere intention.
-
So when she delivered her, Maryam.
-
Hannah said: my Lord i have delivered a female. named her Maryam, And i seek refuge from Shaytan
-
She was worried that maybe her vow was not accepted.
-
But Allah knows everything. Its not like He didn’t hear her vow.
-
(Male is not like the female).
-
If you look at it, from the beginning of the Ayat Hanna is talking. Then Allah puts his word “The male is not like the female”
-
The insert in the middle from “Wallahu a’lamu bima wada’ath wa laysazzakaru kalunsa” is called a Jumla mu’tharidha (A hypothetical sentence)
-
Allah has created the two differently. men compete with men. women with women. dont try to be like a man if you are a woman and vice versa.
-
Men are not like women. women are not like men. each have their own roles and responsibilities. thats how Allah has made them
-
Maryam is of hebrew origin: means servant of God. a worshipper. one who serves others, very obedient. gives the Haqq of Allah and people.
-
So Hannah named her a very meaningful name. the very same day. naming of the child can be delayed until the 7 day. mother has a say in the naming of the child. selecting the naming should be a good name.
-
She was farsighted and seek refuge with You and for the progeny from Shaytan. She was thinking about the future. She was selfless and farsighted.
-
So like Hannah, we should also talk to Allah, like she did. During good times and during times of set back. Share it with Allah. Because He understands us better than anyone else can.
-
Women are more emotional and so speak to Him, because when nobody else understands, He always will.
-
Abu Hurayrah said that the Messenger of Allah said,«مَا مِنْ مَوْلُودٍ يُولَدُ إِلَّا مَسَّهُ الشَّيْطَانُ حِينَ يُولَدُ، فَيَسْتَهِلُّ صَارِخًا مِنْ مَسِّهِ إِيَّاهُ، إِلَّا مَرْيَمَ وَابْنَهَا»“Every newly born baby is touched by Shaytan when it is born, and the baby starts crying because of this touch, except Maryam and her son.”
-
So Allah accepted her from Hannah. He accepted Maryam. Graciously accepted. With A Good acceptance. Because she gave it with such beauty and sincerity and humility.
-
And so He made her grow spiritually and physically. He made her grow very good. In terms of Tarbiyah as well.
-
Plants and children growing are influenced by their environment.
-
Maryam grew very fast mentally and physically. She was a child prodigy, she was gifted, from Allah. She excelled at a very young age.
-
A lot of people wanted to take care of Maryam. Zachariah wanted to do so beforehand.
-
Maryam’s maternal Aunt was the wife of Zachariah. and so he was chosen to take care of her.
-
He placed her under the protection of ZackariyaUnder the care of Zackeriya• Hanna had certain dreams about her child and she took her to the temple and related then they all wanted to vie for the honor of taking care of her because they realized this was a special child.• But the honor was given to Zackeriya who was also her uncle.• “Cast lots with their pens” : There are two opinions on what this phrase means 1. Some Scholars say that the Rabbis were not ready to take her because she was a girl2. Others Scholars say that they readily accepted her because she was the daughter of Imran who was one of their religious leaders. • Also the fact that Zackeriya was her maternal aunt’s husband who was also a religious leader at that time prompted them to accept her. They all wanted to take care of her.• So after they decided to accept her, they went down to the River Jordan and threw their pens to draw lots as to who will be her guardian and take care of her. The pen that would remain afloat will be the one who will take care of her. All the pens sunk except Zackeriya’s pen and he was given guardianship of Maryam Al.• Allah put her under the care of Zackariya (her uncle), husband of her maternal aunt. Zackeriya was one of the guardians of the Temple of Jerusalem. She was brought up under his guardianship and he was her spiritual guardian as well.• Zacheriya was a Prophet – He was a very pious person• Allah put Maryam under the care of Zakeriya and this was a great blessing• He understood the needs of Maryam Al and gave her a favorable place to be brought up. • She was 3 years old when she was accepted in to the Hakel (Masjid)• She stayed there and worshipped and didn’t go home or out
-
Zachariah was a prophet and he was very pious. So she was put in the care of him.
-
Allah provided for Maryams needs through Zachariah.
-
So whenever he would enter the chambers of Maryam, he would find with her rizq. out of season of fruits and scrolls with knowledge. He was amazed at where she was getting this rizq/provision, that he didn’t know where she was getting it. he was not mad, or accusing but amazed and wanted to know where she was getting it
-
She said its from Allah. we dont know the specifics, but that it was from Allah.
-
Indeed Allah provides us without taking account, for whom He wills.
-
So then and there, Zachariah made duA. Bc if He was providing for her, He can grant me.
-
Zachariah was a prophet and had reached an old age, and he made duA, for children.
-
he asked Allah to give him a child from near Allah. Meaning a noble gift. Because it would be given by Allah, most Highest. This gift/child would be more special, bc it would be from Allah.
-
He was asking for good clean and pure pious offspring. In terms of character, spiritually, that would bring benefit to others.
-
SO he was blessed with Yaya (as): born to an old couple. Means life.
-
Summary of Attributes of Yahya Al.
-
-
#1 Confirming the Word of Allah
-
#2 A leader
-
#3 Chaste and controlled
-
#4 A Prophet
-
#5 Righteous
-
-
Isa (as); called kaleema kun- scriptures.
-
Yaya (as) is described as one who will support and confirm Isa (as).
-
Yaya (as) a leader with a following. one who is chaste , a prophet from among the righteous.
-
Zachariah made beautiful duA and it was accepted beautifully. and answered. by being given Yaya (as)
-
Zachariah was 120 years old. and his wife was 88 years old.
-
Imrraah wife- means one who is pleasant. women should be pleasant
-
So Zachariah asked how is it possible to have a child when he is so old and wife is barren.
-
Allah does what He wills
-
Zachariah asked for sign, that his wife would be pregnant
-
there is nothing wrong for asking for a sign from Allah, for contentment of the heart.
-
Allah told him that the sign would be that : Zachariah would not be able to speak to people for 3 days, except through signals and body language. by gesture.
-
so not being able to speak after being able to speak. should make us value this gift of speech.
-
the reason for this was so that he could remember Allah a lot more. rather than speaking to people. for 3 days. do tasbih and and glorify Allah during the last part of the day. Dhuhr, Asr, Maghreb and during the early morning.
-
very important to do the Adhkaar during these times: and remember Allah at these times:
-
-
Morning after Fajr until before sunrise.
-
evening after Asr until before sunset
-
begin the day and end the day this way
-
-
mention when the angels said: ( angel Jibraeel): oh Maryam, indeed Allah has chosen you. and purified you. and preferred you. over and above the other women of the worlds. she was purified inside and out. She was blessed inside out. Allah chose her.
-
Prophet Sal. said :Many men reached the level of perfection, but no woman reached such a level except Asiah, the wife of Fir`awn, and Maryam, the daughter of `Imran. The superiority of `A’ishah (his wife) to other women, is like the superiority of Tharid (meat and bread dish) to other meals.)
-
Prophet Sal. said :The best woman (in her time) was Maryam, daughter of `Imran, and the best woman (of the Prophet’s time) is Khadijah (his wife), daughter of Khuwaylid.)”
-
Prophet Sal. said“the best women in the women of the world are four Maryam daughter of Imran, Asiah wife of Fir’awn, Khadijah daughter of Khuwaylid and Fatima daughter of Rasoolullah Sal.”
-
Prophet Sal. said :Many men reached the level of perfection, but no woman reached such a level except Asiah, the wife of Fir`awn, and Maryam, the daughter of `Imran. The superiority of `A’ishah (his wife) to other women, is like the superiority of Tharid (meat and bread dish) to other meals.)
-
Messengers were among men.
-
So some say she was a prophet, but she was not a prophet.
-
Oh Maryam be constantly devout, obedient, sajdah and ruKu. with those who do ruKu.
-
Sajdah mentioned before than Ruku. bc in prostrating is when you are closest and most humble, to Allah.
-
draw closer to Allah. and be obedient and humble.
-
submissive, and humility.
-
lower yourself before Him.
-
bow with those with those who bow in prayer.
-
Women can pray in congregation while man is leading the prayer.
-
That is the news from the unseen.
-
news that is beneficial and adds to the belief.
-
Muhammad (saw) did not know of this until Allah revealed it to him. bc he was not with them
-
so Allah inspires it to Muhammad (saw), bc he was not with them at their time. with: Zacchairha Maryam, Yaya, Hannah.
-
He (saw) was not there when they cast their pens to decide who would take care of Maryam. and you weren’t there when they disputed about it.
-
derive from Allahs Kalam.
-
Allah sent one last messenger to the Bani Israel for one last chance for them to reform themselves.
-
Maryam lived in the temple. worship area for the Bani Israel. Zachariah was her guardian. She was prepared and nurtured there. For the birth of Isa (as)
-
When the angels said (usually means- Jibraeel (as) said): Oh Maryam Allah gives you good news. A word from Him.
-
Kalimah: can be meant as two things:
-
-
good news of birth Isa (as)—This birth was with the permission of Allah.
-
Isa (as) himself.
-
-
His name will be Messiah. – Isa (as) would swipe his hand over people to heal them. He also traveled the earth to spread the message.
-
Messiah- some believe its a hebrew word Mashiah- mubarak, blessed.
-
Become arabized to Messiah.
-
Messiah: can also mean siddeeq. or beautiful.
-
Isa was given this title bc it contained alot of his qualities.
-
(Same term is also used DAjjal- he will also travel the world. he is missing an eye. cannot enter makkah madinah though. )
-
Ibn Maryam is his nickname, kUnya. Bc he had no father.
-
No other messenger has been named with this detail in the Quran. His rank has been made clear. bc a lot of people had doubts about him.
-
he will be distinguished in this world and the hereafter. he will be Held in high esteem. He is from those who obey Allah and is therefore near Him. He is amongst those who are brought near to Allah on the DoJ.
-
Being near to Allah is not ordinary. its the highest position anyone can get. not just a simple thing. its the best thing.
-
It is a great honor to have nearness of Allah. It was great honor given to Isa (as). He was born with this honor.
-
actions that bring you closer to Allah: prostration, sacrificing for Allah, righteous actions, doing them now and not procrastinating
-
Day of Judgement is also called a Day of Regret.
-
Now think about Maryam’s state upon hearing this news.
-
He will speak to people from the cradle. while still a baby. He will be able to talk like an adult. In an adult’s speech not like a baby.
-
People slandered Maryam saying the child was from fornication. but this was wrong and Isa (as) was made to speak up for her. in her defense.
-
S maryam 28-33
-
He will speak in infancy as a baby and in maturity, and will be of the righteous.
-
His speech was moving, hit the heart, it was different from other people.
-
At the age of 12 he taught at the temple for the first time. He is way of teaching and speech was such a way, that he amazed the scholars even. he became the talk of the town. everybody wanted to listen to him and take lessons from him. Nobody could say anything negative to him or to his face. they would talk behind his back, but not to his face.
-
So upon hearing this good news of having a child from Angel Jibraeel (as) Maryam said to Allah: how (in amazement) will I have a child.
-
She spoke to Allah when saying this not, Angel Jibraeel. Bc he was just bringing the word/news from Allah. so she was asking Allah in amazement.
-
Her amazement was that: How could I have a child? when no man has touched me?
-
Answer was: that this is Allah’s will, He creates whatever He wills.
-
S Taha 49-50
-
When HE decrees a matter, when He decides a matter, He only has to say for it to be, and it is. thats it.
-
s Yasin 82
-
Allah will teach him, Isa (as): writing (the art of writing), the book (that which is written) (divine books), the wisdom( beneficial knowledge, the ability to understand and apply knowledge. to implement it., to put things where they belong.) and the Torah and Injil.
-
The Torah is the scripture that has the most virtue after the Quran.
-
Isa (as) had an amazing memory. His writing was very beautiful. he would write the Torah himself. He could quote the Torah himself.
-
He received prophethood at the age of 30. when most prophets become prophets at 40 years of age.
-
Messenger to the Bani Israel.
-
he will say that indeed I have to come to you all with a sign from you Lord. evidence of his truthfulness. sign from your Lord.
-
I will create the form of a bird, from clay. I will blow into my breath and it will become a bird with the permission of Allah. so this is not his own miracle but a sign from Allah.
-
and with the permission of Allah I will heal the blind and the lepers.
-
And i will bring back to life the dead.
-
All with Allah’s permission.
-
i will inform you of what you eat and what you store in your houses.
-
Indeed in all this miracles is sign for you if you are believers. proving that what he has brought are miracles and this is a signs for you from Allah to recognize the truth. but for those who want to believe it.Not for those who are stubborn and want to remain arrogant.
-
These signs were relevant for the time of Isa (as). during this time the “in” thing was science and medicine.
-
they were the most appropriate miracles according to the time.
-
There were certain diseases that these people could not cure. But Isa (as) could by wiping his hand over them. And so this was and should’ve been an obvious sign for them to believe.
-
For instance, in the time of Musa, magic was the trade of the time, and magicians held a high position. So Allah sent Musa with a miracle that captured the eyes and bewildered every magician. When the magicians realized that Musa’s miracle came from the Almighty, Most Great, they embraced Islam and became pious believers.
-
As for `Isa, he was sent during a time when medicine and knowledge in physics were advancing. `Isa brought them the types of miracles that could not be performed, except by one sent by Allah. How can any physician bring life to clay, cure blindness and leprosy and bring back to life those entrapped in the grave!
-
Muhammad was sent during the time of eloquent people and proficient poets. He brought them a Book from Allah; if mankind and the Jinn tried to imitate ten chapters, or even one chapter of it, they will utterly fail in this task, even if they tried to do it by collective cooperation. This is because the Qur’an is the Word of Allah and is nothing like that of the creatures.
-
and he was confirming that the Torah before him, was indeed true.
-
He was confirming the news of him coming that was in the Torah. already.
-
and to make lawful for you some of what which was unlawful for you.
-
some things that were made haram on Bani Israel, he made them lawful for them. for ease. From Allah
-
He did not bring a new shariah or legislature. He was reviving the one that was already there. that was already brought to them
-
So adopt taqwah of Allah and obey, me, the messenger. – this the message each messenger brought.
-
Indeed Allah is my Lord and yours, and so worship Him!
-
this is the straight path.
-
the one that he was calling them to, is the right path
-
Abd is the slave, lowers himself, showing devotion.
-
Ibaadah: includes any statement or action, whether it is hidden or apparent, and it is done to please Allah. showing most love and respect and servitude towards Him.
-
Siraat: A path, wide, it doesn’t have ups and downs, its smooth and balanced
-
But Isa (as) sensed and felt Kufr and disbelief in their behavior.
-
they would kill prophets. They would say Uzair was the son of god. this was all disbelief
-
So Isa( as) called out and asked who are my supporters towards Allah. For Allah.
-
So he was calling them to connect them to Allah. he was calling and asking about: my supporters for the cause of Allah.
-
The disciples whose hearts were pure and clean, spoke up and said we are supporters.
-
there were just a few of them, 12 in number. they spoke. they said we are supporters of Allah. few but very sincere.
-
Given the name of Helpers of Allah. even though Allah needs no helpers. they were called helpers. this is a huge honor. A great honor to be called the helpers of Allah. ?
-
And testify that we (the disciples) are the ones who submit, to Allah
-
When you give your service to the Deen, Allah gives you honor.
-
when the Prophet encouraged the people to fight during the battle of Al-Ahzab, Az-Zubayr came forward, and again, when the Prophet asked for fighters a second time. The Prophet said,Every Prophet has a Hawari, and Az-Zubayr is my Hawari
-
we believe in what you have sent down. and followed the last messenger . and so register us among as the witnesses of the truth.
-
we should be registered as being on the same grounds as those who follow the messenger.
-
needs to be steadfast: believe in Allah, follow the messengers, company of righteous,
-
they plotted and schemed. They the Bani israel. this is negative connotation. They were planning to kill him, Isa(as)
-
Allah planned. But Allah planned.
-
And Allah is the best of Planners.
-
He is has all the knoeweldge.
-
The Bani Israel accused Isa (as) as being a rebel in the religious courts.
-
They went to the Roman rule and said Isa was a threat to their kingdom.
-
Allah states that the Children of Israel tried to kill `Isa by conspiring to defame him and crucify him.
-
They complained about him to the king who was a disbeliever. They claimed that `Isa was a man who misguided people, discouraged them from obeying the king, caused division, and separated between man and his own son. They also said other lies about `Isa, which they will carry on their necks, including accusing him of being an illegitimate son.
-
The king became furious and sent his men to capture `Isa to torture and crucify him. When they surrounded `Isa’s home and he thought that they would surely capture him, Allah saved him from them, raising him up from the house to heaven.
-
Allah put the image of `Isa on a man who was in the house; when the unjust people went in the house while it was still dark, they thought that he was `Isa. They captured that man, humiliated and crucified him. They also placed thorns on his head.
-
However, Allah deceived these people. He saved and raised His Prophet from them, leaving them in disarray in the darkness of their transgression, thinking that they had successfully achieved their goal.
-
And recall when Allah said: that indeed I am the One who will fully take you. and raise you. cause you to sleep and then raise you. or just life you.
-
The precise how this happen we won’t know.
-
But we know that Isa was recalled and will be returned on DOJ
-
Allah said: he will be raised in the physical and intanjable sense. and Allah is the one who fully purifies you from all the plots and schemes against you. from those who disbelieved. from the bani israel.
-
Allah is the one who makes those who follow you superior to those who disbelieve you. till the day of J. Allah will exalt the ranks of the followers and who believe in the messenger.
-
And then to Me (Allah) is everyones return. And I will judge between you with those who used to differ. The ones who used to say Isa (as) was the son of god. jews denied him outright. muslims said he was the messenger of Allah.
-
There was differences in his birth, his death, his message
-
jew says he was killed on the cross.
-
Muslims say he will return and has not died and will return on DofJ
-
so many differences in opinion. and Allah will judge all those who differed.
-
Allah saved Isa (as), recalled him completely. He raised Isa(as) in ranks and physically. Allah purified him, and Allah made him superior among others. and Allah will judge those who differed.
-
So those who have disbelieved or denied the truth will be punished severely here and in the hereafter, for them they will have no helpers.
-
and for those who believed and did righteous Allah will pay them their full rewards,
-
Allah doesn’t love the wrong doers.
-
The one who deprives others of their rights.
-
Allah doesn’t like these people. And Allah doesn’t do injustice.
-
Allah is saying to Prophet Muhammad: and this is what We recite to you from the verses revealed
-
The wise message, the precise message.
-
A reminder that is full of wisdom.
-
In response to a question.
-
Christian delegation came to madinah in the 9th year after migration. Year of delegations. came to visit Prophet Muhammad (saw). Different groups were coming to meet the head of the Islamic state Prophet Muhammad (saw) to answer the questions about Islam. They had a question about Isa (as) bc they misinterpreted that he was the son of god. They understood that Isa (as) was from Allah and part of the god. which is not true. (Min-hoo- doesn’t always mean it was a part of smthg. It can mean from as well.)
-
SO in this verse Allah is refuting that claim.
-
That Isa (as) is like the example of Adam (as) made from dust. Adam was created from dust also without mother and father. So if He can create Adam without a father and mother, than of course He can make Isa (as) without a father as well.
-
A delegation from Najran came to meet Prophet Sal. Sal. in 9th Hijra• This was the Year of Delegation when many delegations came and many of them accepted Islam• One delegation from Najran came and met Prophet Sal. and asked him about Islam and he presented the truth to them• This delegation had a misconception that Isa was a son of Allah because they misinterpreted Kalimatulla min as a part of Allah that is why they said he is the son of Allah• Min is never interpreted to mean part• Here Allah is refuting their claim
-
The truth is from Allah.
-
So you (prophet Muhammad (saw)) dont be among the doubters. Not that prophet Muhammad was doubting.
-
Dont be in doubt. Dont be like the confused people.
-
So who ever argues with you about the truth, the reality of Isa (as). after the truth has come to you.
-
After the knowledge clearly has come to you from Allah.
-
Then say: come lets call our children and your children, our women and your women, our selves and yourselves.
-
And then we humbly pray and invoke the curse upon the liars.
-
so we will make Dua to Allah, asking for His special help. and invoking curse on the liars. this is Muhabalah.
-
This willl not apply to petty issues, this is for big issues and disputes.
-
so this was a challenge to the non believers.
-
MUBAHALA: The reason for the call to Mubahalah and the revelation of the Ayat from the beginning of this Surah until here, is that a delegation from the Christians of Najran (in Yemen) came to Al-Madinah to argue about `Isa, claiming that he was divine and the son of Allah. Allah sent down the beginning of this Surah until here, to refute their claims, as Imam Muhammad bin Ishaq bin Yasar and other scholars stated.
-
So when Prophet Muhammad (saw) saw him and his family coming out to do this prayer. Christians got scared and taken aback and wanted some time to think. Went to get advice from Abdul Masih.
-
Muhammad bin Ishaq bin Yasar said in his famous Sirah, “The delegation of Christians from Najran came to the Messenger of Allah . The delegation consisted of sixty horsemen, including fourteen of their chiefs who make decisions. These men were Al-`Aqib, also known as `Abdul-Masih, As-Sayyid, also known as Al-Ayham, Abu Harithah bin `Alqamah, of the family of Bakr bin Wa`il and Uways bin Al-Harith. They also included, Zayd, Qays, Yazid, Nabih, Khuwaylid, `Amr, Khalid, `Abdullah and Yuhannas. Three of these men were chiefs of this delegation, Al-`Aqib, their leader and to whom they referred for advice and decision; As-Sayyid, their scholar and leader in journeys and social gatherings; and Abu Harithah bin `Alqamah, their patriarch, priest and religious leader. Abu Harithah was an Arab man from the family of Bakr bin Wa`il, but when he embraced Christianity, the Romans and their kings honored him and built churches for him (or in his honor). They also supported him financially and gave him servants, because they knew how firm his faith in their religion was.” Abu Harithah knew the description of the Messenger of Allah from what he read in earlier divine Books. However, his otherwise ignorance led him to insist on remaining a Christian, because he was honored and had a high position with the Christians. Ibn Ishaq said, “Muhammad bin Ja`far bin Az-Zubayr said that, `The (Najran) delegation came to the Messenger of Allah in Al-Madinah, entered his Masjid wearing robes and garments, after the Prophet had prayed the `Asr prayer. They accompanied a caravan of camels led by Bani Al-Harith bin Ka`b. The Companions of the Messenger of Allah who saw them said that they never saw a delegation like them after that… Then Abu Harithah bin `Alqamah and Al-`Aqib `Abdul-Masih or As-Sayyid Al-Ayham spoke to the Messenger of Allah , and they were Christians like the king (Roman King). However, they disagreed about `Isa; some of them said, `He is Allah,’ while some said, `He is the son of Allah,’ and some others said, `He is one of a trinity.’ Allah is far from what they attribute to Him.”
-
They said to him, `O `Abdul-Masih! What is your advice’ He said, `By Allah, O Christian fellows! You know that Muhammad is a Messenger and that he brought you the final word regarding your fellow (`Isa). You also know that no Prophet conducted Mubahalah with any people, and the old persons among them remained safe and the young people grew up. Indeed, it will be the end of you if you do it. If you have already decided that you will remain in your religion and your creed regarding your fellow (`Isa), then conduct a treaty with the man (Muhammad) and go back to your land.’ They came to the Prophet and said, `O Abu Al-Qasim! We decided that we cannot do Mubahalah with you and that you remain on your religion, while we remain on our religion. However, send with us a man from your Companions whom you are pleased with to judge between us regarding our monetary disputes, for you are acceptable to us in this regard.
-
They remained Christian. Did not do Mubahalah.
-
Imam Ahmad recorded that Ibn `Abbas said, “Abu Jahl, may Allah curse him, said, `If I see Muhammad praying next to the Ka`bah, I will step on his neck.’ The Prophet later said,(Had he tried to do it, the angels would have taken him publicly. Had the Jews wished for death, they would have perished and would have seen their seats in the Fire. Had those who sought Mubahalah with the Messenger of Allah, went ahead with it, they would not have found estates or families when they returned home).” Al-Bukhari, At-Tirmidhi and An-Nasa’i also recorded this Hadith, which At-Tirmidhi graded Hasan Sahih.
-
This is the true story
-
and there is no true deity than Allah.
-
Surely He is the Almighty and Wise
-
So what happened:
-
-
The delegation of Najran came to the Prophet Sal.
-
He presented the truth to them
-
They did not accept the truth
-
So he challenged them and said let’s call upon Allah
-
So the next morning the Prophet Sal. went with his daughter Fatima, 2 grandsons and son in law Ali and prepared to do Mubahala
-
The Delegation were amazed and said they needed time to consult with their leader
-
The leaders said not to engage in Mubahala. They said “he is a Prophet and you will be destroyed”
-
They decided they didn’t want to do Mubahala
-
So they decided to pay Jizyah and not do mubahala.
-
They paid jizya and left
-
They did not accept Islam) ( Full story is in Tafseer Ibn Kathir)
-
-
So if they still indeed turn away, and still do not accept, which will lead to corruption and faSad on the earth. a
-
And Allah is the knower of who spreads Corruption and Fasad on earth.
-
Those who turn away from the truth, will spread corruption.
-
Oh people of the Book. Mostly the jews. But referring to both christians and jews. People of the Torah and Injil, of the scripture.
-
Calling to an important matter. Come to a word that is equal to both us and you. A word that is same to us and you.
-
invite them to the Truth
-
But not just a word-meaning a set of beliefs. that is equitable between us and you. Muslims and you people of the book.
-
Who should say this? prophet Muhammad (saw) should say this to the people of the Scripture.
-
The truthfulness of this book is being proven.
-
Allah is instructing prophet Muhammad (saw) to say this. TO call them to the Truth. to declaring Allah’s oneness.
-
he is calling them to: Come to a word (set of beliefs) that will exalt your ranks and bring you honor.
-
Word-that we will not worship, anyone or anything, except Allah.
-
Ibaadah: worship, utmost love and respect, utmost submissiveness.
-
And Not associate anything with Him. and not take one another as lords in place of Allah.. (those who have the right to legislate what is right and wrong) Don’t take any one else at that level, besides or in place of Allah.
-
They took their rabbis and their monks to be their lords besides Allah, and the Messiah, son of Maryam) [9:31]. Imam Ahmad, At-Tirmidhi and Ibn Jarir At-Tabari recorded a Hadith via several chains of narration, from `Adi bin Hatim, may Allah be pleased with him, who became Christian during the time of Jahiliyyah. When the call of the Messenger of Allah reached his area, `Adi ran away to Ash-Sham, and his sister and several of his people were captured. The Messenger of Allah freed his sister and gave her gifts. So she went to her brother and encouraged him to become Muslim and to go to the Messenger of Allah . `Adi, who was one of the chiefs of his people (the tribe of Tai’) and whose father, Hatim At-Ta’i, was known for his generosity, went to Al-Madinah. When the people announced his arrival, `Adi went to the Messenger of Allah wearing a silver cross around his neck. The Messenger of Allah recited this Ayah;(They took their rabbis and their monks to be their lords besides Allah). `Adi commented, “I said, `They did not worship them.”’ The Prophet said,(Yes they did. They (rabbis and monks) prohibited the allowed for them (Christians and Jews) and allowed the prohibited, and they obeyed them. This is how they worshipped them.) The Messenger of Allah said to `Adi,(O `Adi what do you say Did you run away (to Ash-Sham) so that ‘Allahu Akbar’ (Allah is the Great) is not pronounced Do you know of anything greater than Allah What made you run away Did you run away so that `La ilaha illallah’ is not pronounced Do you know of any deity worthy of worship except Allah)
-
There is no obedience to the creations when there is disobedience to the Creator.
-
(Don’t give preference to a person’s command over Allah’s command, because this, in a way, is shirk).
-
So now, after inviting the people of the Book, so after calling them, still if they turn away from your invitation, then you all say, that you all bare witness that we are the ones who submit.
-
Not only should you believe and worship only One Allah, but negate all the other small deities. Which is what Jew and christians won’t do, they don’t negate the little other deities.
-
So say, we as muslims, we submit.
-
There are commonalities between us, jews and christians, but we are not the same. We are all not equal in beliefs.
-
When here, we are being told to invite the jews and christians, with common grounds, than how should we speak to our muslims who have differences in practicing or beliefs. So Speak to even Muslims gently and on common grounds as well. Dont start inviting or calling them with differences or disputes.
-
Oh people of the Book, why do you argue about Ibrahim (as)?
-
jews say Ibrahim was a jew
-
Christians say Ibrahim (as) was christian
-
Torah and Injil were not revealed until after him. So why do you argue about him. So how can he be from your groups?
-
Do you not understand???
-
Will you not reason?
-
how can you argue about this?
-
BackgroundThe Christian delegation of Najran came to meet the prophet sal during the 9th year of Hijri to ask him about the principles of the dheen, The Jewish tribes also rushed to the prophet sal and the Christians and Jews disputed in from of Prophet sal.Ibn `Abbas said, “The Christians of Najran and Jewish rabbis gathered before the Messenger of Allah and disputed in front of him. The rabbis said, `Ibrahim was certainly Jewish.’ The Christians said, `Certainly, Ibrahim was Christian.’ So Allah sent down, (O people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians)! Why do you dispute about Ibrahim,) meaning, `How is it that you, Jews, claim that Ibrahim was Jew, although he lived before Allah sent down the Tawrah to Musa How is it that you, Christians, claim that Ibrahim was Christian, although Christianity came after his time” This is why Allah said, (Have you then no sense)
-
Use intellect in matters of Deen.
-
Here you all here. Arguing about smthg which you have knowledge. Jews and christians are being addressed.
-
You know yet you still argue.
-
You knew from your scriptures, you recognized Prophet Muhammad (saw) as the last messenger. You knew he is the messenger from Allah, and you still disputed about that. Even though you knew he was coming and is the last messenger.
-
So why do you argue about that of which you have NO knowledge- referring to matter of the Deen of Ibrahim (as). You have no knowledge of this, so why argue about this?
-
Allah knows and you don’t know.
-
These Disputes are based on lack of knowledge.
-
This happens among muslims today, even. arguing based on no knowledge. Arguing over topics such as prayer, hijab, women, etc. There is usually no depth in their knowledge or dispute.
-
Ibrahim (as) was neither a jew or christian.
-
He was hanafan: left smthg, left misguidance for guidance.
-
He was not of the polytheists. He was not a mushrik.
-
He was one who submitted to the Truth. he was muslim.
-
Allah is praising him after he has gone. Because of his sincerity
-
The most worthy and nearest to Ibrahim were the ones who followed him.
-
Hanifan muslimaan.
-
Just by mentioning his name doesn’t mean you are close him
-
You have to follow his way to be considered to be close to him.
-
you didn’t follow him, you did shirk after him.
-
?and this prophet (prophet Muhammad) is closest to Ibrahim, among those who followed him, and those who believed.
-
and Allah is the close protecting friend and ally of the believers.
-
Ibn Mas’ud said that Prophet Sal. said :Every Prophet had a Wali (supporter, best friend) from among the Prophets. My Wali among them is my father Ibrahim, the Khalil (intimate friend) of my Lord, the Exalted, the Most Honored)
-
When Ibrahim was asked to submit he submitted. He did everything for the sake of Allah. and this way to get closer to Allah.
-
And so Allah is his close protecting friend.
-
The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) said, ‘Whoever loves for Allah, and hates for Allah, gives for Allah and withholds for Allah, has completed his faith.’ [Abu Dawood]
-
Wud is more than love.
-
A fraction of the scripture would love to go around to mislead you.
-
except they are only misleading themselves, they dont even know it.
-
jews wanted the last messengers from the bani Israel. so they got jealous and would not accept him.
-
And when they saw people were entering Islam, their jealousy increased.
-
So they thought of another tactic, a scheme to make people not leave islam but not be in islam. but make them somewhere in the middle. They wanted to take them away from Deen so that they are just muslim by name. They wanted bad for the muslims.
-
if you intend evil for another, evil comes your way.
-
If you intend good for another, good comes your way.
-
Jews were digging a hole for themselves. they didn’t perceive it.
-
Oh people of the Book, why do you disbelieve in the verses of Allah.
-
While you are witnesses to the truth. While you can see the truth. its front of you.
-
But still dont believe
-
oh, people of the book why do you confuse the truth with falsehood. Torah and the changes made within the Torah.
-
This is speaking to the Jews. Why do you mix the truth with falsehood. Why do you confuse people in regarding the messenger for example.
-
and you knowingly hide the truth. the truth which is the coming of the Prophet Muhammad (saw) while you know it.
-
A group from the jews, would say to the people, believe! in which that which was revealed to the believers ( the Quran) in the beginning of the day and then they would reject it at the end of the day.
-
that perhaps they will return to kufr and leave islam.
-
This was another one of their schemes.
-
This was another scheme, another plot3 men from the Jews Abdullah bin Az Zaif , Adi bin zaid and Harith bin awf, they conferred that they will go to the prophet and pretend to accept what was in the Quran and when the day ends they will go back to the Prophet and say they had reverted back saying that they had found some doubts in the Quran. They did this in order to confuse the people; and mislead the people
-
The reality is that whatever was revelaed to the Prophet sal and he brought Iman on it , he will hate to go back to Kuffar
-
Heraclius said, “Bring him (Abu Sufyan) close to me and make his companions stand behind him.” Abu Sufyan added, Heraclius told his translator to tell my companions that he wanted to put some questions to me regarding that man (The Prophet) and that if I told a lie they (my companions) should contradict me.” Abu Sufyan added, “By Allah! Had I not been afraid of my companions labeling me a liar, I would not have spoken the truth about the Prophet He then asked, ‘Does anybody amongst those who embrace his religion become displeased and renounce the religion afterwards?’Abu Sufyan replied, ‘No.’ and that is Iman
-
Those whose hearts are embedded with the love of Allah, dont leave the Deen when faced with difficulties and challenges.
-
Only those who are weak in ImAN and love for Allah, can turn away. they are wavering.
-
Dont trust those who dont follow your religion. this is what the jews were saying.
-
Allah says; say: True guidance is guidance of Allah.
-
-
The phrase Qul innal huda-hudhallahi is a jumla mu’tharida is a hypothetical sentence (an insert put in the middle of a sentence such that if you remove this part you can still read the sentence) and it would still make sense.
-
-
Unless someone is giving smthg like that you were given. dont listen to a muslim. follow the christians and jews.
-
Listen only to your “own” people.
-
meaning if you trust the muslims, than they will get what you got. dont listen to the muslims they are lesser than you. Dont acknowledge them. bc they will argue about you with their lord. They will have a dispute against. They will say that you knew the truth and you still rejected.
-
say indeed the bounty is the hands of Allah. the Fadl is His hands. He grants it to who He wills.
-
Deen is not inherited, it is given by Allah. He is the one who gives guidance.
-
He chooses whom He wills with His mercy and He is possessor of all Bounty and grace.
-
Prophet Sal said:Allah said My servants, even if the first amongst you and the last amongst you and even the whole of human race of yours, and that of jinns even, become (equal in) God-conscious like the heart of a single person amongst you, nothing would add to My Power.””O My servants, even if the first amongst you and the last amongst you and the whole human race of yours and that of the Jinns too in unison become the most wicked (all beating) like the heart of a single person, it would cause no loss to My Power.””O My servants, even if the first amongst you and the last amongst you and the whole human race of yours and that of jinns also all stand in one plain ground and you ask Me and I confer upon every person what he asks for, it would not. in any way, cause any loss to Me (even less) than that which is caused to the ocean by dipping the needle in it.”Sahih Muslim : Book 32, Number 6246
-
Dua“Allahumma innaka fadlikal azeem”O Allah I ask of your great bounty
-
And among them the people of Scripture, if you trust him with a great amount of wealth, he will return it to you.
-
and among them is a person who you trust with a dinar, he will not return it to you unless you constantly standing over him, demanding it back.
-
meaning not all the people of the book are the same. not all jews are the same. there are different types of Jews.
-
this treachery ( of taking smthg and not returning it) is because they say, it is not a duty to be truth full and honest to the illiterate. (referring to the pagan arabs, illiterate) meaning we only have to be nice and honest and trusting to our people not anyone outside our people. (this is the jews talking).
-
they would say that Allah is allowed us to do this. that Allah has said we are allowed to deceive everyone else. that there is no blame on us. As long as they are not our own people.
-
this is wrong and untrue. they would speak untruly about Allah, and they knew it.
-
There was a man who came to Ibn Abbas Rali and he asked “During Battle we capture some property belonging to Ahlul Dhimmah (the people of the book) such as chickens and sheep . Ibn Abbas said ‘What do you do in that case?” the man said ‘We see that there is no sin- we use that thing “Ibn Abbas said in response “that is what the people of the book said “There is no blame upon us concerning the unlearned.” Verily if they pay the Jizya you are not allowed to take their property until they willingly give it up”
-
The Talmud • (Hebrew: talmud “instruction, learning”, from a root lmd “teach, study”) is a record of rabbinic discussions pertaining to Jewish law, ethics, customs, and history. It is a central text of mainstream Judaism. Talmud was a book written by the Rabbis, it is not part of the tawrah it was fabricated• It is mentioned in the Talmud that “If a bull of a Jew harms another Jew there is no sense of revenge but if a bull of a non Jew harms a Jew then revenge is to be taken’
-
their statement is being negated. the statement that they have no duty to the illiterate and pagans.
-
Those who fulfill their covenant and are Allah Conscious and have taqwah, indeed they are the ones who Allah loves.
-
those who exchange the covenant of Allah and their own oaths for a small price, will have no share in the hereafter.
-
Those who betray and make false promises. their good deeds will be wasted
-
And Allah will not speak to them nor will He will look at them with mercy
-
Nor will He purify them
-
And they will have a painful punishment
-
surely among them is a party that twist the scriptures with their tongues, so that you may think its from the scripture.
-
so that you think its part of revelation. they say its from Allah. that this distortion
-
But is not from the scripture and its not from Allah
-
and they speak the Lie and untrue about Allah. knowingly.
-
there are some who has a lot of knowledge still don’t fear Allah. So don’t be fooled by their rank or status. Bc taQwah is missing.
-
this party is, from the Jews and christians, and even from Muslims today. so be aware. so be cautious of those religious leaders even among the muslims. They are the scholars.
-
Crime: They change, they twist the words. they alter they scripture with their tongues.
-
Even Prophet Sal. warned his Ummah when he said :“You will follow the ways of those nations who were before you, span by span, and cubit by cubit so much so that even they entered a hole you would follow them”
-
this ayah was revealed about the Jew and Christians. bc they had changed the words of the book.
-
Ibn Abbas Rali. said“This verse was revealed about the Jews and Christians because they had changed the Torah and Injeel”• So they had made changes to the Torah and Injeel, they had made additions in their Books that were not originally part of the Books – They made changes in its words and meanings
-
purpose was to mislead people about the Deen and the Book.
-
They didn’t want to change. So they changed the book. They thought their own ways and desires were superior.
-
This was a petty price. How long did would they get away with it? just for this short life. Then what?
-
This group were the scholars. they would twist the words. distort the words and lead the masses astray.
-
to distort portrayal of real meaning
-
-
changing of the words- distortion of the words. Ex: السلام و عليكم ورحمته الله وبركاته saying:a. For example instead of Assalamu Alaykum (May peace be upon you) they said Assamu Alaikum (May death be upon you)
-
chasing the meanings- verbally or in writing.
-
hide parts of the book.
-
read an external text and make people believe it is part of the Book.
-
-
Scholars were reading the book in Hebrew and teaching and translating in Arabic. so the people didn’t know what was being said and taught. nobody would know where the distortions or changes would be made.
-
Abu Hurairah said :“The People of the Book would read the Torah in Hebrew and they would explain it to the Arabs in Arabic.
-
Prophet Sal. said:“Do not confirm or deny the words of the People of the Book. Rather say ‘We believe in Allah and what was revealed to us”
-
they did this bc they didn’t want to change themselves they changed the book. bc the commands didn’t suit them and their worldly life.
-
when they didn’t want to implement a command that did not like, so they would change the command and make it seem they were actually implementing and obeying, in the eyes of the people.
-
But Allah is guarding this Book, it cannot be tampered with. Allah protects it.
-
there are people til today that try to change the words and meanings of the Book
-
Altering the Book of Allah is a huge crime.
-
Denial can be with the tongues and the actions.
-
We are very careful about the matters of the world. If it leads us loss in this world, we are careful about it. but what about loss of the Deen. we should be cautious of it more.
-
It is not befitting that a person (for a Prophet) that Allah should have given him a scripture, the authority (the hukm – wisdom; authority), and prophet hood and he says to the people “Be servants to me rather than Allah,”
-
Its not befitting suitable for a human being, a man. A prophet. that Allah should give him scripture and authority and prophethood… and then he would say to the people be servants to me rather than Allah.
-
Its not possible for a prophet be given all these things and then says worship and serve me rather than Allah.
-
its not possible, doesn’t make sense.
-
A prophet cannot claim divinity. A prophet would not do that.
-
instead, But he would be pious scholars of the Lord. bc of what you have taught and what you have studied.
-
Rabbani has a strong connection with Rabb. worships only the Rabb.
-
Rabbani has knowledge and is obedient to Rabb. has strong knowledge and implementation.
-
Rabbani: does Tarbiyah.
-
Tarbiyah: to nourish and nurture, by teaching the Book. connects others to Allah.
-
Rabbani ensures that the knowledge is being correctly implemented. they worry that information is correctly understood and correctly implemented
-
So be pious scholars of the Lord bc of what you have taught of the scripture and what you have studied.
-
to teach, to instill fear, and to obey Rabb.
-
Gives knowledge and ensures character building.
-
Incident related to this Ayat-When the delegation of Najran came to Prophet Sal. and when the Jewish tribes found out, they also came to the Prophet Sal. So both tribes were in front of the Prophet Sal’s gathering. He read the beginning of Surah A’l Imran, he challenged the Christians to Mubahala and he also presented logical proofs of how Isa Al. cannot be the son of Allah. There was one man in the gathering, a Jewish man who spoke up and said “O Muhammed, do you wish that we worship you as the Christians worshipped Isa Al. Are you saying all this so that we worship you?” At this the Prophet Sal. said : “I seek refuge with Allah that I should command to worship other than Allah. Allah did not send me for this, nor did He command me with it” And then this Ayat was revealed• So his message was that he was sent to connect people to Allah
-
Not just imparting knowledge. But tarbiyah is also very essential. Reformation of characters is very important.

Umar Rali. was known as Sayyed of Qurra (head of the reciters of Quran). He also did Tharbiya – he also reformed people’s charactero For example in his time he increased the punishment for drinking upto 80 lashes because people who would not stop drinking, they were persisting in it. This is Tharbiya
-
Implement knowledge yourself but also connect others to Allah. Help reform others as well. call and invite others to Rabb. to build connection stronger to Rabb.
-
Need Quran and Sunnah. Must learn and study both. It will be tough and we will face challenges. but we must make Dua to Allah to make it easier for us. strengthen our connection with him.
-
people would travel months to learn one Hadith.
-
Nor can he order/command you to worship the angels or prophets. He, the prophet cannot and would not order you to take the Angels as Lords. and the jew and christians would take the prophets as Lords. He would not, its not suitable or befitting of a prophet.
-
This is not what he can do.
-
can a prophet order you to commit disbelief after you have been muslims. Worshipping others besides Allah? associating partners with Allah? would he order you to do this? NOPE!
-
ITs not possible.
-
mention when: Allah took he covenant of the prophets saying: whatever I gave of the scriptures. and wisdom and explanation of the Book. Knowledge of the messenger. and then comes to you a message confirming what is with you, confirming the Book and message and he calls you to what is true, what you have from the scriptures. and the messenger is what is described in your scriptures.
-
meaning you should support and believe the prophet that is coming. that which is already mentioned in your scriptures.
-
SO you must believe in him. Surely you must believe and assist him in conveying the message.
-
surely you must help and support him. (the messenger, Prophet Muhammad (saw))
-
Allah says: to those who have taken this covenant: do you acknowledge this covenant? and take upon this burden this responsibility? they said we confirm and confess this covenant.
-
SO Allah says bear witness, and I am among the witnesses to this as well.
-
this lesson is relevant to us today as well. This was not just for the Jews, and christians etc.
-
Its is relevant to us today too.
-
what do we do to support him today? what do we do to revive, learn it, spread it and survive his sunnah.
-
we must renew our iman and ask our selves do we really believe in what he bought and what are we doing to implement it?
-
How are we defending the Deen? how are we sacrificing?
-
think of ways we can assist the mission of Prophet Muhammad (saw)…
-
Learn and benefit from opportunities to learn the Hadith.
-
Beautiful things happen with patience
-
patience is: not exhibiting a negative reaction when smthg bad happens, or challenges come.
-
So whoever turns away after that the covenant.
-
they were/are defiantly disobedient.
-
breaks covenants.
-
So is it besides the Deen of Allah, that they seek and desire.
-
while everything in the heavens and skies and earth has submitted to Him.
-
Prophet Sal.“Verily I see what you do not see and I hear what you do not hear. The Heaven is creaking and it should creak for there is no space in it the width of 4 fingers but there is an angel there prostrating to Allah”
-
The ones who have intellect. the human beings compared to all of Allah’s other creations are little. But ALL has submitted to Him.
-
willingly and some unwillingly. Some rush happily and some by compulsion.
-
and to Him they all have to return.
-
all creatures will be returned
-
say we have believed in Allah. (we, the Prophet and its people)
-
in The Quran and Sunnah.
-
and what was revealed to Ibrahim, and Ismael, Ishaq, Yaqub, and the descendants of Bani Israel and the messengers that came to them.
-
and what was given to Musa and Isa. Given: they were not only given scriptures and also given many miracles.
-
and prophets from their Lord (Allah)
-
we don’t make distinction and differentiate between any of them. We don’t make division among them. we don’t discriminate between them, we accept all the messengers.
-
we are muslims, submitting to Allah.
-
Prophet Sal. said :“There is no obedience to the creation if it means disobedience to the Creator”
-
And whoever desires anything besides Islam, besides submitting to it, besides submitting to Allah.
-
And who desires any other Deen,
-
never will it be accepted from him. their deeds will never be accepted from them.
-
and in the Hereafter they will be the losers.
-
Prophet Sal. said :Whoever commits an action that does not conform to our matter(religion) then it is rejected
-
you cannot judge or label people bad, but you must remind them.
-
if you see someone committing an action that will take them to Hell, and you don’t say anything in fear that you might hurt or offend them, then how much of well wisher are you really.
-
he, whoever desires a Deen besides Islam, it will never be accepted from him. and he will be among the losers in the Hereafter.
-
All his efforts here will be lost.
-
signs and message reaches them, but still they abandon their Deen
-
And Allah does not guide the wrong doing people.
-
Those who recognize the truth and then left.
-
wise person accepts it. but the wrong doer does not, and deviates from the truth. recognize it and deviate away from it
-
jews were settled in madinah, bc they were waiting for the last messenger there.
-
But then they saw and heard and recognized Prophet muhmaammad and still turned away. they still rejected
-
they will have curse of Allah and angels, and the people
-
but they will be deprived of mercy
-
why? bc:
-
-
Rejection of the truth after recognizing it
-
witness that the messenger is true
-
signs of the prophethood reached them and they still denied.
-
-
punishment will not be lightened for them.
-
they will dwell there eternally
-
will not get any respite.
-
far from the mercy of Allah.
-
the curse of Allah will be on them
-
Allah gives dunya to everyone
-
Allah give jannah to those he loves.
-
except those who repent here in the Dunya
-
and correct themselves.
-
tawbah and Islah
-
Tawbah: realize, stop, regret, reform and resolve
-
those who reject the truth after their belief.
-
rejecting Isa after believing Musa.
-
increasing in the disbelief. By disbelieving in Prophet Muhammad Also!
-
this increases them in their Kufr further.
-
never will their claimed repentance will be accepted bc it will be fake and too late.
-
at the time of death. thats too late.
-
they are the ones who are astray.
-
Indeed those who die while disbelievers, never will the ransom of gold in the capacity of the earth, be accepted from them .
-
to even fill the earth with gold. hollow it out and fill it all with gold.
-
this ransom still will not be accepted on that day.
-
for them their will be a painful punishment and they will have no helpers.
-
3 types of people mentioned here:
-
-
Did tawbah and reformed, this is accepted
-
did tawbah, but at the time death, so not accepted
-
did not try to tawbah, and die as kufr, try to do tawbah in the hereafter, still not accepted. No tawbah accepted in the hereafter or at the time of death. so they die as the disbeliever.
-
-
Never will you attain the complete good/piety righteousness, until you spend from that, from all that, (all or some) which you love.
-
Depending on need, spend all or some.
-
Abu Bakr gave everything he had at the battle of Tabook. what is left for his family, he replied: Allah and Prophet Muhammad (saw) are enough for them.
-
He didn’t do this at every battle. But he did according to the need at that time.
-
So give what you can and what is needed at the time, accordingly.
-
From what you love: wealth,
-
All food was lawful for the Bani Israel, except what Yaquub (as) had made unlawful for himself, before the Tawrah was revealed to Musa. (Musa) as came after Yaquub. Yaqqub was on the creed of Ibrahim (as). Camel meat he didn’t eat it for personal reasons. Tawrah was not yet revealed yet.
-
so bring the tawrah if you are truthful.
-
these things they made unlawful on them selves,
-
Jews were objecting towards the muslims. saying that the things that are haram for us, you are making halal. But the truth they were not actually haram on them in the first place. Jews had done injustice by making things up to be haram on them.
-
After the evidence, so then whoever makes up smthg after that, fabricates smthg against Allah. after that, then he is of the unjust.
-
Say: Allah has told the truth. about the issue. that all foods were allowed for Jews initially. the Bani israel.
-
So follow the religion of Ibrahim. Those things that were halal for him are halal for you, muslims.
-
Prophet muhammad (saw) is being told this.
-
Millah- shariah. what the prophet dictates based on revelation, Wahi
-
Ibrahim was not of the polytheists
-
First house that was built for the worship of Allah- bc Ibrahim is the one who established this house. thats why he was not of the polythests.
-
best house.
-
jews would say the direction of worship was Bait al Maqdis. They would say Kaaba is for the Arabs.
-
angels constructed it for the first time. the Kaaba. angels made the base 2000 years before Adam.
-
But the direction of worship. Kaaba Makkah is for all of mankind. the messenger was for all of mankind. the Book is for all of mankind.
-
Blessed.
-
it was the first house.
-
Imam Ahmad recorded that Abu Dharr said; “I said, `O Allah’s Messenger! Which Masjid was the first to be built on the surface of the earth’ He said, `Al-Masjid Al-Haram (in Makkah).’ I said, `Which was built next’ He replied `Al-Masjid Al-Aqsa (in Jerusalem).’ I said, `What was the period of time between building the two’ He said, `Forty years.’ He added, Wherever (you may be, and) the prayer becomes due, perform the prayer there, for the whole earth was made a Masjid.)” Al-Bukhari and Muslim also collected this Hadith.
-
• Angels built this house 2000 years before the creation of Adam• It is directly under Bait’ul Ma’mur – the place of worship for the angels• This is the first house with respect to its virtue – it is the most virtuous house• It is the central point for Hajj, it is for all people
-
In it are many signs
-
the standing place, of Ibrahim (as) are there. bc he established the house of Allah while standing there on the stone
-
Hajj is another sign. who ever enters it will be safe.
-
safe in terms of world. not in terms of Akhirah.
-
safety in terms of Dunya.
-
they will not be harmed or oppressed there.
-
nothing is to be harmed in the haram. so it automatically makes it a safe place.
-
Prophet Sal. said “Allah, not the people, made Makkah a sanctuary. Therefore, anybody who has belief in Allah and the Last Day, should neither shed blood in it nor cut down its trees. If anybody argues that fighting in it is permissible on the basis that Allah’s Messenger fought in Makkah, say to him, `Allah allowed His Messenger and did not allow you.’ Allah allowed me only for a few hours on that day (of the conquest), and today its sanctity is as valid as it was before. So, those who are present, should inform those who are absent of this fact.).”
-
and upon people is a requirement/responsibility to preform Hajj/pilgrimage to the house. whoever has the capacity and means of getting there.
-
should have the physical and monetarily capability. if someone has the money but cannot physically- than send someone on their behalf.
-
A man asked if his parents are old and cannot go for Hajj – then he can perform it on behalf of them – or a woman who has no mahram
-
Whoever disbelieves in Allah, or the commands of hajj. even if then disbelieves in this, then Allah is free of need of anyones worship.
-
this means who ever rejects going to hajj even if they have the money and the physical capabilities. they blame the saudi government etc. they say we will spend on all charity but not go. But this is a wrongdoing. this is like rejecting a pillar of the deen. This is a major Kufr. Whoever doesn’t go, and denies going it doesn’t matter if he or dies as a jew or christian.
-
Whoever posses provision and a mount for the journey (in today’s terms this would mean if you have money for the ticket and accommodation and provisions) that can convey him to the House of Allah and he still does not do Hajj, then it makes no difference whether he dies a Jew or Christian.”
-
But you have to part with what you love. to go for Hajj. You make sacrifices for it.
-
Allah is free from the need of the worlds. He doesn’t need your worship.
-
this is for your self, you are saving yourself.
-
oh people of the scripture why do disbelieve in the verses of Allah?
-
while Allah is a witness on everything you all do.
-
All the Ayat of the book. all the verses.
-
Jews/bani Israel would not go to hajj, would not accept kaaba is direction of worship. would reject this.
-
people who have love for Allah, will save every little penny for years to go for Hajj.
-
your deeds are not hidden from Allah.
-
Why do avert people from the way of Allah? those who believe.
-
This is being asked to the people of scriptures.
-
They of all people should have believed in the messenger. In Prophet muhammad (saw)
-
they were averting people away from ImAan. in their actions and doings;
-
while you are witnesses to the truth
-
dont think you will get away with deceiving people.
-
Allah is aware of all that you do.
-
creating doubts in people, and negative propaganda, changing the words of the Book,: were ways to deviate people.
-
people today do whatever they can to make Deen, to make Islam look crooked or deviated. But in actuality it is not, it is the way it is being shown by disbelievers.
-
Oh believers: if you listen to a group from those that were given the scriptures. they will turn you back to disbelief after you have believed. they will put in efforts to take you away from the DEEN. from islam.
-
bani Israel looked for loopholes in deeN.
-
Narrated Abu Sa’id (May Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said:”Surely, you will follow the ways of those nations who were before you, in everything as one arrow resembles another, (i.e. just like them), so much so that even if they entered a hole of a sand-lizard, you would enter it.” They said, “O Allah’s Messenger! Do you mean to say that we will follow the Jews and the Christians?” He replied, “Whom else?” (meaning, of course the Jews and the Christians).”
-
And how can you disbelieve when the verses are being recited to you. By prophet Muhammad (saw).
-
when the verses of Allah are being recited.
-
Kaiyfa (isthifam) and it is used to express amazement • At other times it is used to negate something• Thirdly it is also used for reproach, to scold Kaiyfa Thakfuroona = how can you disbelieve In other words, don’t you dare, you have no reason to disbelieve
-
one who holds on steadfast to Allah, will be guided to the straight path.
-
oh you who have believed. Believers are addressed. all of us are addressed.
-
fear Allah as He should be feared.
-
Have taQwah. ImAAN is not complete with out taQwah.
-
safeguard from shirk and Kufr. stop yourself from major sins. Dont do those things that are disliked by Allah. Stay away from what is doubtful.
-
The taqwah is in our hearts.
-
Fear Allah as He should be feared.
-
and dont die except as Muslims
-
on the DoJ, outwardly appearance won’t matter if our insides are not full of Imaan. Allah doesn’t look at the outside. He looks at the heart.
-
Wife of Lot appeared muslim on the outside. but she did not have taqwah. She had betrayal at the level of the heart. she had hypocrisy in the heart.
-
And: hold firmly to the rope of Allah altogether.
-
Dont become divided. Dont be seperated from Islam. Unity protects you.
-
Remember the favor upon you from Allah. The DEEN. when you were all enemies to each other. when they fight over trivial issues.
-
And He joined your hearts with love.
-
Allah brings the hearts together. Allah places the love for each other in our hearts.
-
• In Makkah the Quraysh and the Hawazin tribes were enemies to each other – they were always fighting and there was warfare• In Madina the Aws and Khazraj were enemies to each other
-
Prophet Sal. saidWhen Allah loves a slave he calls Jibreel and says “I love so and so, so love him” then Jibreel loves him and then Jibreel announces it in the heavens saying “Allah loves so and so, so love him. Then the inhabitants of the heavens (i.e. the Angels also love him) and the people on earth also love him
-
brotherhood based on Deen is stronger than brotherhood of blood.
-
So He put love in your hearts so you all became brothers with His blessing.
-
You were on the verge of destruction and He saved you.
-
and so Allah makes clear to you His verses so that you may be guided.
-
The Prophet Sal. said :“O Ansar, did I not find you misguided and Allah directed you towards guidance because of me; were you not divided before me and Allah united around me; were you not poor and Allah enriched you because of me?”
-
there should be a rising group from among you that invites and calls all people to good. All that Allah likes. All the good for here and in the next. Leaving the evil. open invitation
-
that which benefits in this world and the hereafter. and to stop from evil actions.
-
If someone invites you to do any good, you should cooperate with them. Any good small or big. Accept the invitation. to those things that are approved by Allah. We must prioritize. What is important and what is obligatory.
-
Similarly when invited towards Salah, go towards it.
-
ordering with the correct right way. approved way. one and one personalized basis.
-
and forbidding what is wrong. Advise others. but know or have knowledge of the whole situation when advising someone who is doing smthg wrong. Must be certain that you will be able to prevent them from the wrong doing. But if you think trying to stop them will lead to more wrong doing or fitnah, than dont do it. be wise in our ways.
-
those are the ones who will be successful in the hereafter.
-
And dont be like those who have become divided into sect due to difference in opinion. differed. after the clear proofs came to them.
-
Those who split into factions will have a great punishment.
-
division is caused when everyone does what they want to do.
-
people of the scriptures divided into factions.
-
here we (muslims) are told, dont be like them Bani Israel, who divided after the clear proofs had come to them.
-
hearts should not become divided. Even if there is a difference of opinion outside, dont divide the hearts.
-
Some faces will be white and glowing due to state of heart.
-
Some faces will be dark, gloomy etc. due to state of the heart. filled with
-
As for those whose faces are black will be asked did you disbelieve after you believe.
-
so now taste punishment of fire.
-
as for those whose faces will be white, they will reside in Jannah eternally. in Allah’s mercy
-
These are verses of Allah, We (Allah) recites them to you, in truth. And Allah wants no injustice to the worlds.
-
And when someone doesn’t act upon the commandments of Allah, they are doing injustice to themselves.
-
And everything that is in the heavens and skies and the earth is for Allah.
-
And to Allah we all will return. All the matters will return to Him.
-
You were/will be/are the best nation/group that was brought forth, if you perform certain actions and have certain qualities. best nation.
-
All of us are being addressed here. the Muslim Ummah.
-
You were produced as an example for mankind. be well wishers for humanity in general. Made for mankind. You have been manifested for the benefit of the humanity.
-
How will you benefit others? You enjoin/order what is right, forbid wrong, and believe in Allah.
-
order good and forbidding right are required.
-
The believer is a well wisher for ALL people, even those who are doing wrong. for all people, not just muslims.
-
How can a believer bare that others are going towards Hell?
-
you will get backlash from people when trying to do this. But must continue to want to do good for the people. Dont fear harm.
-
If only the People of the Book had believed, it would have been best for them. If only..they had fulfilled their responsibilities. If they had only supported the last messenger. believing would have been better for them in regards to this world and the next.
-
from them are some that do believe but mostly among them are those that transgress.
-
Its not sufficient to be just part of the ummaH. Need to benefit humanity in general.
-
muslim Ummah comprises of us as well. today. How can we call ourselves followers of Prophet Muhammad (saw) without following the commands and fulfilling the rights of this best Ummah.
-
First three generations were the best.
-
Sahabah would hear an ayah, and they would implement it right away. We easily just look at the lives of the Sahabah and just ignore it and not emulate their examples. this is wrong. they were the best examples.
-
There will always be a small group that will continue to invite to good, forbid the wrong and believe in Allah. Are we among this group?
-
Bc they fear and love Allah the most.
-
you cannot bow and bend, until your heart has truly submitted. Until your heart bows and bends first.
-
Umar bin Al-Khattab said:“Whoever likes to be amongst this praised Ummah let him fulfill the condition Allah has set in this Ayat”
-
The Prophet Sal. said:“the best of my nation is my generation, then those who follow them, then those who follow them”
-
Prophet Sal. said ;“Do not abuse my companions for if any of you were to spend gold equal to the Mt. Uhud in charity it would not equal a handful of one of them or even half of that”
-
Saying of the Prophet Mohammad (may peace and blessings be upon him):”If you see something wrong, change it with your hand. If you can’t change it with your hand change it with your tongue, if you can’t change it with your tongue hate it with your heart and that is the weakest of faith”
-
Never will they harm except for some slight small injury. Some annoyance. they will taunt you mock you annoy you. but they cannot hurt you. This is being told to the prophet and his companions.
-
And if they fight you they will show you their backs. cannot face you and fight. cowardice.
-
this is reassurance from Allah. That they cannot cause you any loss. they will just tease and taunt you.
-
They will fight you from behind walls. with their backs.
-
they have been struck with humiliation.
-
humiliation after some honor.
-
They have been put under humiliation by Allah. Bc they didn’t join good, forbid wrong and believe in Allah.
-
So their honor was taken away from them.
-
they will have humiliation wherever they go, Except if they hold on to the rope from Allah or rope from the people, make treaties strong with the muslims, or if they accept the truth. then they will have honor. if not they will be under humiliation wherever they go.
-
Maskanah: at the level of the heart.
-
the anger of Allah, and destitution is because they disbelieve in the verses of Allah.
-
And the killed the prophets without right, without reason, without Haqq.
-
this was another reason they earned Allah anger.
-
and they disobey and transgress habitually.
-
resisting conformity, was not only in bani Israel, but is within us too.
-
we resist going or accepting invitations towards the right ways too, today.
-
All the people of the Scriptures/Book are not all the same.
-
Among them is a group that is standing, steadfast. Among the people of the Book. A group that adheres to the truth and to justice. firm in the commands of Allah. A group that adheres to the Truth. They stand in Salah too, but are firm in the commands from Allah.
-
reciting the verses of Allah, the Quran. During periods of the night.
-
And the prostrate, sajdah.
-
These are very beloved qualities to Allah.
-
They believe in Allah and the last day, enjoin what is right, forbid was wrong.
-
They hasten to good deeds.
-
Those are among the righteous. they are among others that are righteous.
-
*saliheen: recite ayah of Allah in the night, prostrate, believe in Allah and the last day, enjoin right and forbid wrong, hasten to continue to do good deeds.
-
So they recite and gain knowledge first, that increases the ImAAN… which leads to the rest of the good deeds.
-
eager and run to opportunities to do good deeds.
-
the company of the good people is means to becoming pious. sit with righteous, it will make you righteous.
-
A“I love the righteous , even though I am not among them, perhaps Allah will give me the ability to also be righteous”
-
Prophet (Saw) said: “A good and a bad friend are the like example of perfume seller and black smith….
-
prophet (Saw) said: a person is on the Deen of his friends, so be careful who your friends are.
-
An Arab poet said :“Uhibbus Saaliheena wa lasthum minhu – I love the righteous even though I am not among them. La Allalaha yarzuknis-salaha – Perhaps Allah gives me the ability to be righteous as well”
-
Prophet Sal. saidA good friend and a bad friend are like a perfume seller and a black smith. The perfume seller might give you some perfume as a gift or you might buy some perfume from him or at least you might smell its fragrance. As for the black smith he might sink your clothes or at the very least you might breathe in the fumes of the furnace”
-
Prophet Sal. said“A person is on the Dheen of his friends so be careful who your friends are”
-
“Every friend follows his friend” – meaning a friend is like his friend
-
Imam An-Nawawi said :“I love you for your religion and if you let go of your religion then I have to let go of this love”• Remember the “ABC” of life “Avoid Bad Company”
-
And whatever good they do, any good, never will it be denied from the good of it. and Allah knows the state our hearts. Allah knows who adopt taqwah.
-
Keep continuing to do good, more and more.
-
Quality and quantity.
-
Fix our intentions.
-
never will their wealth or children, avail them against Allah,
-
these two things usually become a hindrance in doing good.
-
people usually think that I have this much wealth and children, that it will be enough for me in this world. That i don’t need to worship or obey Allah.
-
But disobeying due to children and wealth. will not help you on the DOJ, will not help you against Allah.
-
Dont sacrifice everything for the wealth and children. Don’t let it divert you from the remembrance of Allah.
-
Wealth and children will not benefit you on that Day.
-
and those are the companions of the fire. they will abide there eternally
-
what they spend in this worldly life. the example.
-
Those who do kufr. the example of what they spend in good in this worldly life. is like a wind containing frost, or extremely hot, blowing in a way that is creating sound. its very dangerous. Extremely violent and hot.
-
the wind strikes, the harvest the field, the cultivation, of those who are disobedient. The deeds of people will be struck.
-
This wind will strikes the harvest of the people. the deeds and actions of people who have wronged themselves.
-
And then destroys it. The wind that destroys the crop or cultivation.
-
Those who perform good deeds in this world, for this world only, for recognition in this world, this is how their deeds will be struck.
-
They have wronged themselves. Allah has not wronged them. They did it to themselves.
-
Only that wealth that is spent for Allah and spent in imAAn is accepted.
-
oh believers: Don’t take the disbelievers as your intimates, or close intimate friends,
-
bc they will not spare you in any ruin.
-
they will corrupt you, blackmail, they have negative effect on you.
-
thye will wish you hardship
-
reveal your secrets.
-
they wish to put you in difficulty.
-
the hatred is seen from their mouths.
-
Beware you all here!
-
A believer has a clean heart, extends friendship to all people
-
You love them, they don’t love you.
-
you the muslims, they the non muslims.
-
you are wanting islam for them, are well wishing for them. but they don’t love you.
-
While you believe in the scripture, and all the divine books. But they don’t believe in all of them. Jews didn’t believe in book of christians or the muslims. hypocrites didn’t believe in the books either, etc.
-
Hypocrites were also not well wishing for the believers either.
-
and when they meet you they say we believe but when alone they bite their fingertips in rage.
-
even a slightest good that touches you, any good that comes close you slightly. It distresses them, it stresses them
-
but if harm strikes you then they rejoice.
-
but if you are patient. and hold back from retaliation.
-
and don’t befriend and don’t love those who are disbelievers.
-
patient and fear Allah- their plot will not harm you at all
-
greatest defense mechanism is patience and taqwah
-
“One day I was riding (a horse/camel) behind the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, when he said, ‘Young man, I will teach you some words. Be mindful of God, and He will take care of you. Be mindful of Him, and you shall find Him at your side. If you ask, ask of God. If you need help, seek it from God. Know that if the whole world were to gather together in order to help you, they would not be able to help you except if God had written so. And if the whole world were to gather together in order to harm you, they would not harm you except if God had written so. The pens have been lifted, and the pages are dry.’ ”Related by Tirmidhi
-
Prophet Sal. said:“I know of an Ayat, if the people implement it will be enough for them for the Dheen and the Dunya”That is Surah Talaq ayah 3
-
Qatadah said,[وَمَن يَتَّقِ اللَّهَ يَجْعَل لَّهُ مَخْرَجاً](And whosoever has Taqwa of Allah, He will make a way for him to get out.) “meaning, from every doubt and the horrors experienced at the time of death,[وَيَرْزُقْهُ مِنْ حَيْثُ لاَ يَحْتَسِبُ](And He will provide him from where he never could imagine) from where he never thought of or anticipated.” Allah said,[وَمَن يَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى اللَّهِ فَهُوَ حَسْبُهُ](And whosoever puts his trust in Allah, then He will suffice him.) Imam Ahmad recorded that Ibn `Abbas said that he rode the Prophet’s camel while sitting behind the Prophet , and the Messenger of Allah said to him,«يَا غُلَامُ إِنِّي مُعَلِّمُكَ كَلِمَاتٍ: احْفَظِ اللهَ يَحْفَظْكَ، احْفَظِ اللهَ تَجِدْهُ تُجَاهَكَ، وَإِذَا سَأَلْتَ فَاسْأَلِ اللهَ، وَإِذَا اسْتَعَنْتَ فَاسْتَعِنْ بِاللهِ، وَاعْلَمْ أَنَّ الْأُمَّةَ لَوِ اجْتَمَعُوا عَلَى أَنْ يَنْفَعُوكَ لَمْ يَنْفَعُوكَ إِلَّا بِشَيْءٍ قَدْ كَتَبَهُ اللهُ لَكَ، وَلَوِ اجْتَمَعُوا عَلَى أَنْ يَضُرُّوكَ لَمْ يَضُرُّوكَ إِلَّا بِشَيْءٍ قَدْ كَتَبَهُ اللهُ عَلَيْكَ، رُفِعَتِ الْأَقْلَامُ وَجَفَّتِ الصُّحُف»(O boy! I will teach you words [so learn them]. Be mindful of Allah and He will protect you, be mindful of Allah and He will be on your side. If you ask, ask Allah, and if you seek help, seek it from Allah. Know that if the Ummah gather their strength to bring you benefit, they will never bring you benefit, except that which Allah has decreed for you. Know that if they gather their strength to harm you, they will never harm you, except with that which Allah has decreed against you. The pens have been raised and the pages are dry.) At-Tirmidhi collected this Hadith and said: “Hasan Sahih.”
-
Remember, Oh Prophet muhammad (saw) when you left your family early in the morning.
-
To post the believers at their stations. for battle.
-
And Allah is all knowing and All hearing.
-
once you have made the intention, you must fall through. and rely and trust upon Allah.
-
Prophet Muhammad (saw) trusted Allah and prepared as well. He started his work early. He prepared for battle. All while having trust in Allah.
-
Leaving the home early, you have to be really organized. you have to prioritize. Its a struggle. And you must work hard to do so.
-
SO Prophet went out early to post people at their stations for the battle. He organized them.
-
Quran also teaches us good management skills. Look at Prophet Muhammad (saw)’s ways.
-
Being a good manager- work hard, organized way, but at the same time seeking Allah’s help, trusting him. And not freaking out if smthg goes wrong.
-
And when- Their were two groups the from you, the muslims that were about to lose courage. and give up. they were about to give up.
-
bc the muslims saw a group of the hypocrites (300) of them retreating. so there was confusion. and so some muslims were thinking of retreating. But Allah kept them firm.
-
But Allah was their Ally. of these two groups.
-
And upon Allah the believers should rely.
-
More ImaAN, more help from Allah. then more confidence Allah gives you to remain steadfast. so when you think of giving up, check your imaan.
-
A believer can sometimes get weak. But having strong Faith and Imaan, will bring help from Allah.
-
Have tawwakul upon on Allah. Pure trust in Him.
-
Believers have trust in Allah.
-
A believer knows that behind all things, all sources, all outcomes is Allah.
-
Battle of Badr: well between makkah and madinah. 20 miles ways from Madinah. Happened in Ramadan. had very little ammunition. enemy was much higher. was before battle of Uhud.
-
reminded of the muslims of their success at Battle Badr
-
Wa la Qad : And certainly.
-
Allah had already given you victory and help at Battle Badr. while you were few in number and resources.
-
The Battle of Badr is also known as Yaum-ul-Furqan – because it distinguished truth and false – winning equated to light and losing to darkness
-
So fear Allah, have taqwah so that you may be grateful.
-
victory is not based on numbers. It comes from Allah.
-
Allah is affectionate towards His weak servants. He sends them help.
-
Weak in terms of this world, but strong in Imaan.
-
May seem weak in this world in terms of status and wealth, but he may have a lot of honor in front of Allah. due to Imaan.
-
so remain grateful to Him.
-
Remember when you Prophet Muhammad (saw) said to the believers. The weak ones muslims: is it not enough that you Lord sent down 3000 angels to help you? to Assist you?
-
angels were sent to aid the sincere believers.
-
Allah could have sent just Jibraeel to destroy the non believers. Like he was sent to destroy the nation of Lut.
-
But Allah decides what He wills.
-
So Allah sent 3000 angels here. 3000. Bc numbers are impressive. They have a affect on people. High numbers have an affect. Numbers impress people.
-
Jibreel Al. came to the Prophet Sal. and said : “how do you look upon the warriors of Badr among yourselves.” Prophet Sal. said “as the best of the Muslims” and on that Jibreel said “so are the angels that participated at Badr”
-
Yes. if you remain patient. in terms of obedience. remain steadfast, more help will come to you.
-
and you remain conscious of Allah. stay away from the wrong
-
Help will come to you from Allah.
-
if the enemies comes upon you with a lot rage and energy. your Lord will reinforce you with 5000 angels. with marks of distinction. for purpose of identification.
-
Marks of some type to specify the angels. we dont know the mark really.
-
it is said that the white mark on the horses of the angels.
-
angels came in an organized fashion.
-
marked and prepare for warfare.
-
Sabr and taqwah
-
and made mention of the news of angels coming to help as a way to give good news to you. to reassure your hearts. so that your hearts are content. so that you are at peace in the heart.
-
Victory is only from Allah. Not from our resources.
-
He is the Al-mighty and All Wise.
-
At the time of battle badr it was raining. at that time muslims were on a higher ground and the rain made the lose earth firm, air was fresh, collected rain water. disbelievers were on lower ground, muddy and making it hard for them to walk. winds were favorable to the muslims, blowing dust in eyes of disbelievers.
-
So that Allah cuts off a side of the disbelievers, suppressed, and return back disappointed.
-
Yanqalibu = ق ل ب = to turn about• Qalb (heart) is also from the same root because the heart is always turning about• Inqilaab extra letter is ن . Inqilaab is to return, to go back because when you go back you don’t return to the initial stage• You return to a stage that is contrary to your initial stage• Inqilaab is also used for revolution because in a revolution things don’t remove the same – they either improve or worsen
-
Why is Inqilaab used• When the Makkans came they were rich and happy – all ready to fight the believers. But after the Battle, they returned in a different state• That state was Khaaibeen – ones disappointed.• They lost the Battle, they lost their people, they lost their confidence
-
Not for you (Oh Prophet) is the decision whether you should cut them down or punish them or over look them.
-
This is Allah’s decision. Not Prophet’s decision.
-
Indeed they are wrong doers.
-
So Allah decides what to do with them. Punish them or forgive them, His decision.
-
Whether He turns to them in mercy or punishes them. He decides.
-
At the Battle of Uhud the Prophet appointed 50 archers to stay on the hill and told them no matter what happens – whether the believers are winning or losing do not leave your posts When the battle began and the Muslims were winning, fighting with great courage and vigour and the kaffirs started deserting. As the kaffirs start deserting the battlefield, the archers from above the field made the most fatal mistake. They assumed the battle was over and as they saw the Muslims collecting the spoils of war, and 40 of them deserted their posts and came down thinking they won’t have anything left for them thereby disobeying Prophet Sal.
-
Khalid bin Walid who was at that time a disbeliever seized the opportunity and led a rear attack on the Muslims. When the Muslims were attacked from behind, the kaffirs who were fleeing realized what was happening and they came back – so the Muslims were sandwiched between the two.
-
At this the Prophet Sal. said“How can a people achieve success after having done this to their prophet who is calling them to their Lord the Exalted and most honored”
-
so in response to this, this Ayah was revealed.
-
A person is not allowed to be judgmental. All people make mistakes. We are not allowed to label people.
-
Allah forgave the archers that left. He forgives who He wills. Its not upto us.
-
all decisions are upto Allah
-
He does as He wills.
-
All matters are in the hands of Allah.
-
Dont be weakened by peoples threats.
-
No person, no prophet has the ability to cause gain or loss to a person besides Allah.
-
Oh those who believe dont take, eat usury, interest. ribba
-
dont consume.
-
riba : to increase, to grow
-
first ayah to be revealed about Riba. before the ones in Surah Baqarah.
-
Dont take this increase in wealth.
-
?(This is in reference to the war booty that the muslims saw during the battle, on battlefield?)
-
The lender would say to the borrower I am giving you $1000 for 6 months. After 6 months are over when you return this money to me you have to return $1,100/=/. So he was seeking an increase and if after 6 months the borrower was not able to give the loan back the lender would agree to the delay the payment but say that you have to give me back $1,500/=. So with each extension he would increase the amount
-
So that is why Allah says doubled and multiplied
-
this is unjust.
-
so have taqwah in Allah so that you become successful.
-
riba leads to more greed in society.
-
so the muslims now in this battle are injured and down, and now they are told dont take the war booty.
-
hard for people to leave Riba bc they fear that they will lose financially in this world. This is materialism. This is love of dunya.
-
We must clean our hearts of the love of this world.
-
and so fear Allah,
-
and fear the fire that has been prepared for the disbelievers.
-
It has been prepared now. for the disbelievers.
-
Obey Allah and His messenger, so that you all may be treated with mercy.
-
this is requirement.
-
Allah addressed Jannah and said : “You are Mercy and I bestow mercy through you to whomsoever I will”
-
hasten to forgiveness from your Lord. dont delay. be quick to ask for forgiveness from your Allah. Run towards forgiveness.
-
seek forgiveness:
-
-
verbally
-
righteous actions and good deeds.
-
-
And a jannah that is wide as the heavens and the earth, prepared for the righteous.
-
righteous-muttaqeen.
-
It was made for those who fear Allah. For the righteous
-
*Allahuma maghfirli.
-
seeking those actions that are means of forgiving those sins. Good deeds do away with misdeeds.
-
Propeht Sal. said that the 5 prayers and from Friday prayer to next Friday prayer is an expiation of sins if major sins are not committed
-
From one Ramadhan to next is a means of forgiveness• Hajj Mabrur is a means of forgiveness
-
hasten to do good deeds before situation changes. Dont let things get in your way: poverty, health, wealth, dajjal, sickness, etc.
-
Poverty, wealth (when a person has too much wealth , old age (you are weak and frail), sick (, dajjal the hour – all these are difficulties a person will face so before all of this comes, hasten to good deeds
-
*These righteous : are Those who spend in times of happiness and ease. happy due to wealth.
-
usually people save during this time. when they have wealth.
-
but the ones who spend during this good time. are the righteous.
-
*and those who spend in bad times as well.
-
As-Sarraa’ = س ر ر• Pleasure, happiness• When you are prosperous you are happy. Basically As-Sarra refers to happiness that a person gets upon getting some profit or benefit. So Sarra’ refers to happy times, good times.• A person can be happy at other times as well. But Sarra refers to happiness from gaining. This is gain of wealth. Sarra refers to times of ease
-
Abdullah ibn Umar- Whenever something pleased him of his wealth he gave it away
-
no small deed is trivial.
-
Prophet sal said that the morsel of food that a husband puts in his wife’s mouth is also charity
-
*and those who suppress their anger, restrain their anger. and those who pardon people. Suppress their rage.
-
anger is from shaitan and shaitan is created from fire.
-
Anger is a spark of flame in the heart and when this spark is in the heart the heart starts to boil and it erupts and everything comes out. Like water boiling on a kettle. boils and then steams comes out. steam can cause serious damage that erupts from there.
-
Anger is manifested in speech, expressions and in behavior. righteous will control all these things. Suppresses it all.
-
Suppression of Anger:
-
-
seek refuge in Allah from shaitan
-
due wudu, cold water. water therapy
-
dhikr and remembrance of Allah
-
recite Quran
-
change your physical position
-
move away from the causative situation
-
do some physical activity
-
check your diet
-
-
Allah loves those do utmost good.
-
A man came to the Prophet sal. and said “advice me” and Prophet Sal. “do not be angry”, he said again “advice me”, and Prophet Sal. said “do not be angry” and he asked a 3rd time “advice me”, and Prophet Sal. said “do not be angry”
-
Ahla means highest. (not best)
-
Psychiatrists say release the anger, take it out, don’t suppress it as it could affect you adversely• BUT Quran says : Control
-
Prophet Sal. said :“Anger is from Satan. Satan was created from fire. Fire is extinguished by water. When one of you feels anger, let him do wuzu”
-
Prophet Sal. said: When one of you is angry, remain quiet
-
*And those forgive and overlook. dont even mention what they did wrong. to delete the wrong they did out of memory and just forgive.
-
*And those who do utmost good. Conduct affairs with utmost good.
-
forgive the mistakes of others in this world.
-
Prophet Sal. said: Ihsan is to Forgive people who wrong you
-
It doesn’t mean that these Muhisaneen are perfect though.
-
and those who whenever they do a shameful acts ( Zinna, geeba , etc) or do wrong upon themselves, they remember Allah and seek forgiveness for their sins.
-
They mention and remember Allah and ask for forgiveness.
-
And who can forgive sins except Allah.
-
sins against Allah and other people. Only Allah can forgive all this.
-
Dialogue between Allah and SatanSays to Allah : “My Rabb I swear by Your Glory I will go on misguiding the sons of Adam as long as their spirits remain within their bodies”.And Allah responds, “I swear by My Glory and by My Power, I will go on forgiving them as long as they ask for my forgiveness’
-
“All the children of Adam make mistakes, and the best of those that make mistakes are those who repent the most” (Tirmidhi).
-
Zaid ibn Khaalid al Juhanee (radhiAllaahu’anhu) relates that the Prophet (sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) said Whoever makes wudoo and makes it well, then prays two rak’ahs not letting his mind wander in them – then Allaah forgives him all of his previous sins. [Reported by Abu Dawood (no.905) and others. Al-Albaanee declares it to be ‘hasan’ (As-Saheehah, no.6041)].
-
Prophet sal said :“The one who repents from his sin is like the one who did not sin in the first place.” (Reported by Ibn Maajah; Saheeh al-Jaami’, 3008).
-
repentance and seeking forgiveness at the level of heart, tongue and limbs.
-
And only Allah forgives sins. He gives you the chance to see your sins and then ask for forgiveness. Tawfeeq to see that is from Allah.
-
Who can forgive except Allah.
-
Allah has given us the Tawfeeq to recognize the wrong that we do.
-
immediately we should istaghfar.
-
learn Supplications to seek forgiveness.
-
their, the righteous, have a reward of forgives from their Lord, and will be rewarded for the work they did. And how good and excellent is their reward for what they did.
-
and in this reward, jannah they will reside for ever.
-
When Prophet sal. said when he passed the town of Hijr“do not enter upon this nation except while crying and if you do not cy then do not enter this place”
-
observe how was the ending of those who denied.
-
Purpose of travelling through land• To take a lesson• To look at the end result of those who were destroyed
-
When Prophet sal. said when he passed the town of Hijr“do not enter upon this nation except while crying and if you do not cy then do not enter this place”
-
Whenever you go to a place where there are ruins or destruction, take a lesson• Observe the end of this nation and cry and if you cannot cry, make yourself cry – that Allah destroyed these people
-
The Quran is a clear statement for all those. Those who have taqwah will have guidance.
-
These are clear statements.
-
You know the traits you have to adopt. if you haven’t yet. than ask for Taqwah to obtain more guidance.
-
guidance for those who are conscious of Allah
-
don’t weaken and don’t grieve, dont give up.
-
The Muslims lost all they had on the Day of Uhud that they gained In Badr
-
you will be superior if you believe. If you have Imaan.
-
Wahn is losing determination – it is something that prevents a person from performing righteous acts because there’s weakness. weakness in intention. Weakness in determination.
-
Ibn Umme Makthoom was blind yet he wanted to go for battle
-
• When you are working for the Dheen, whether it is small or big, do not lose hope• And do not say Allah didn’t help you, look at yourself, maybe you are lacking
-
A nation that loses hope. weakness of the hearts, can develop due to too much attachment to the dunYa.
-
Abu Hurayra said: “I heard the Prophet (peace be upon him) saying to Thauban: “O Thauban! What will you do when the nations call one another to invade you as people call one another to come and eat from one bowl?” Thauban said “May my father and mother be sacrificed for you, O Messenger of Allah! Is it because we are so few?” The Prophet (peace be upon him) said “No, on that day you (muslims) will be many but Allah will put weakness in your hearts”, The people asked “What is that weakness O Messenger of Allah?” He said, “It is love for this world and dislike for fighting”
-
when we indulge in becoming more comfy in this world, you become more lazy and lethargic and you fall behind.
-
We must simplify our lives.
-
If a wound touches you at Uhud, a similar wound has already touched them at Badr.
-
and these days are changed /alternation to see who are the real believers and nonbelievers.
-
So Allah make evident those who are believers and take from you all martyrs.
-
To sift the believers from the hypocrites, the sincere from insincere, to test man
-
To take martyrs. A special reward for them. Who die in the way of Allah.
-
And Allah doesn’t like the wrong doers.
-
Zhulm:
-
-
reduce the rights of Allah.
-
reduce in the rights of people. To cause someone loss in life or wealth, honor. etc.
-
-
changing of days to test and select and separate the believers and wipe out destroy the disbelievers.
-
thats why we have tests, to sift.
-
Aby Sufyan reminded the Muslims of their loss, saying, “What a glorious deed we have wrought. THis is our revenge for Badr. Victory in war goes by turns; one wins today and the other tomorrow.”Umar retorted, “The scores are certainly not even, for our dead have gone to Paradise and yours to Hell.” Taken aback at Umar’s conviction, Abu Sufyan conceded, “You people consider it so, and if it is true we are losers.”
-
Meaning Allah has not made it known to the people.
-
Allah already knows.
-
the battle was a test. To test and assess whether this person is truly a believer. truly a believer as they claim?
-
Hasan al basri said ‘Iman is not with long hopes or wishful thinking, Iman is what finds root in the heart and actions confirm it”
-
Need to put in effort to get to Jannah, not just by wishful thinking
-
so did you think you would enter paradise without going through struggles and trials and tests.
-
Allah hasn’t tested you yes to see who will strive hard for his cause.
-
Who is going to really hold on when it gets bumpy and difficult.
-
He knows who is enduring patience.
-
You certainly wished for martyrs before you faced death.
-
the real test is to see how one reacts when one is actually faced with death
-
None should wish for death. nobody should ask for death. Should not long for meeting the enemy in warfare.
-
But now you have seen in it in front of you on the battlefield. Now you see what it is actually like.
-
Prophet Sal.“Do not wish to meet the enemy but when a battle comes your way, be patient”
-
Believers will be tested in good times and during bad and difficult times.
-
Abu Hurayra reported that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, “None of you should wish for death. If he does good, he may increase in it, and if he does evil, he may turn in repentance.” [Agreed upon. This is the version of al-Bukhari]
-
In the battle of Uhud, muslims were initially winning.
-
the setback they faced, eventually. the archers left their post when they saw the muslims are successful at first. they went after the war booty.
-
Continuation of the Battle of UhudAt the beginning they were winningWhat was the cause of their defeat? The Prophet Sal. told 50 archers to remain on top of the hill and told them no matter what happens do not leave your posts. When the battle began and the Muslims were winning, fighting with great courage and vigour and the kaffirs started deserting.
-
Prophet Sal. saw the enemy attack and said “O servants of Allah, come to me, O servants of Allah, come to me” calling the sahaba to him. Many sahaba dispersed… some were running up the mountain, some were with him defending him. 7 of the Ansar died defending him. Even women were defending him.
-
One prominent woman was Umme Amara. Umar Rali. said that the Prophet Sal. once told him that in the Battle of Uhud, wherever he turned whether to the right or to the left, he saw Umme Amara defending him.Umme Sa’ad said she saw a deep wound on the should of Umme Amara and when she inquired about this Umme Amara said that she was attacked by the enemy. There was a man by the name of Ibn Kubayya who attacked her.Musaib Rali. the standard bearer was killed and because he resembled the Prophet Sal. a rumour spread the Prophet was killed. It is also said that it was Shaytan who proclaimed this and many Muslims were grief stricken when they heard this. They sat down and didn’t do anything.
-
Muhammad was given his name by his grandfather.
-
Muhammad is not but a messenger, he is human. He is not divine.
-
he faced trials and difficulties and problems and trials and pain just like others.
-
he also faced death.
-
other messengers have passed on before him. Nobody will come after him. But they came before him.
-
they also faced trials.
-
messengers are dealt with differently after death than normal people are.
-
Muhammad (saw) was last messenger is also a human being.
-
Messengers have higher rank than the martyrs.
-
Prophet Sal. said :“The earth has been prohibited by Allah to eat the bodies of the Prophets”
-
Only Allah is divine and cannot incur harm or loss or death.
-
Only creation can suffer this, but not Allah.
-
Many messengers have died and been killed in the past.
-
So if Prophet Muhammad (saw) was to die, would you turn back on your heels.
-
Would you stop what you are doing and moving forward, and stop doing the right thing. and start going back to disbelieve. Would you leave islam, would you leave the battlefield.
-
Were you fighting for Muhammad or for Allah and Islam.
-
And he who turns back on his heels will never harm Allah. This will harm nobody but yourself.
-
Turning away from Deen only causes loss to yourself and nobody else. No loss to the Deen. No loss to Allah.
-
Allah doesn’t need any favors.
-
Dont accept Islam as a favor to Allah.
-
Dont do it for people. Do it for Allah.
-
facing difficulties is for Allah. not for people.
-
Difficulties will come to make you more sincere.
-
Very soon Allah will reward the grateful.
-
The One who has shown you favors, remain obedient to Him. And to Him Only
-
Those grateful are pleased with the decisions of Allah.
-
they will be rewarded. the steadfast and positive thinkers.
-
Allah will reward the grateful
-
Khalid bin Walid fought in many many battles and at the end of his life he had many many wound scars on his body. But he did in his bed. So death is decreed by Allah, it is fixed by Allah – no person can cause death
-
It is not possible for anyone to die on their own.
-
Its not possible to die without permission of Allah.
-
at the time decreed. at the time written, fixed time.
-
the term of every life is fixed.
-
whoever desires the reward of this world. We will give him from it. good from here. reward of this world in this world. Allah will give him the good of this world. Allah will give him some of this world.
-
and whoever desires the reward of the hereafter, Allah will give that.
-
Allah will determine how much in each. Allah will determine when and how etc.
-
IF you desire just this world and not the akhirah. then you get what is decreed for you in this world. and then hellfire.
-
If you desire the akhirah, you will get what is decreed for you in this world and the reward in the akhirah as well.
-
And Allah will reward/recompense the grateful very soon.
-
Acknowledge blessings at the level of the heart, recognize its from Allah. proclaim it with your tongue. and then be grateful at the level of limbs.
-
It is said to the Prophet Sal. in the Quran “If you had spent all that is in the earth you could not have brought their hearts together for Allah brought them together” (Ref. Anfal:63)
-
be grateful to people as well. Allah has given them to you. Put them in your life.
-
give respect to those who teach us knowledge of Deen. show gratitude this way to them, by respecting them.
-
reading Durood is also showing gratitude to Allah that He sent Prophet Muhammad (saw)
-
show gratitude for wealth by giving it in sadaqah
-
It is said to the Prophet Sal. in the Quran “If you had spent all that is in the earth you could not have brought their hearts together for Allah brought them together” (Ref. Anfal:63)
-
What is Dabbathis Shukr• That animal which eats less and produces more milk. This animal shows through her actions that her master cares for her a lot• When Allah gives us anything be it a job, good friends, a nice car, nice house, knowledge – we should acknowledge it with our heart
-
And many many prophets fought along and as well as thousands of people.
-
RibbiyoonIf it is translated as Ribba it means a group – a lot of people• Ibn Masud said it is thousands of people• Some have said it is 10,000 people. Ones devoted to Rabb. Scholars.
-
Prophets companions.
-
Many righteous people fought along their messengers on the battlefield. B
-
But never lost assurance. The Ribbiyoon never showed weakness in determination or intention. no weakness. remained steadfast. did not lose courage.
-
they stood with their prophets and fought along side them
-
Sahaba are being reassured by the mention of the ribbiyoon.
-
Nor did they weaken. Didn’t get lazy or tired. no physical weakness. Did not submit or succumb to the enemy. did not give up.
-
did not get overwhelmed by the difficulty.
-
they didn’t give up or grieve over what was lost.
-
they remained strong and steadfast.they were sincere.
-
Allah loves the steadfast. the patient. the firm despite being in hardship or challenges.
-
Allah loves those who are patient.
-
be determined. get up and walk in the right direction, despite the tests in the way.
-
have firm resolve.
-
there will always be negative propaganda around you all the time. Dont give in to it.
-
remain strong and steadfast.
-
Develop: determination, physical strength and positive resistance.
-
A person’s heart is at peace despite all types of opposition.
-
Prophet Sal. saidWhen Allah loves a slave he calls Jibreel and says “I love so and so, so love him” then Jibreel loves him and then Jibreel announces it in the heavens saying “Allah loves so and so, so love him. Then the inhabitants of the heavens (i.e. the Angels also love him) and the people on earth also love him
-
Example Asiya: She faced many difficulties despite this her heart was content. She made dua to Allah. Her husband was the greatest enemy but she didn’t compromise on her imaan. She did not compromise on her Imaan. She had peace inside her.
-
and the patient, their words were…
-
This dua.
-
the ribiyyoon said these words:
-
they didn’t play the blame game.
-
They looked at them selves.
-
They did istaghfar.
-
asked to be forgiven for their sins, and excess committed.
-
O Our Rabb forgive our sins and our excesses. Establish our feet firmly and give us victory over unbelievers.
-
balance is required in our dealings.
-
keep us from slipping. keep us to remain firm. : having doubts, having desires. having thoughts, all that we shouldn’t.
-
Defeat of muslims, is due to the lack of smthg in our selves. Not because of anything Allah was lacking
-
help comes from only Allah.
-
So Allah gave them the reward of this world. wealth fame etc.
-
and the good reward of the hereafter.
-
dont be satisfied with the reward of this world, bc the reward of the hereafter is much better
-
excellent reward of the hereafter. Its everlasting. its so much better than this world rewards. it has so much more extra. bc you get to see Allah then.
-
And Allah loves those who do utmost good.
-
Ihsan:
-
Jibreel Al. asked the Messenger of Allah “Inform me about Ihsan?” and Prophet Sal. said : “to worship Allah as though see him and know that if you cannot see Him, then Allah is watching you”
-
Imagine your reaction when you see something beautiful in this world. imagine if that is your reaction here, what it would be like to see Him. the Creator of the creations.
-
give to others, even when others don’t give to them. Allah loves these people. give to others, for the love of Allah.
-
When a person a loves Allah, the love for people reduces. If the love for people is more, then the love for Allah reduces.
-
When you love someone for the sake of Allah, it doesn’t meant that your love for Allah reduces, bc actually love for this person draws you closer to Allah.
-
rectify, fix your intentions.
-
if love for someone is taking you away from Allah, this is a loss. This love is blameworthy and not praiseworthy anymore.
-
Let not your children and wealth divert you from the love of Allah.
-
Check yourself: do the things you love, the people you love, increase your love for Allah or take you away from it. do they take you away from love and obedience to Allah?
-
**(Dua 38 pg 33 Quranic and masnoon dua book)**
-
Oh you those who believe who obey the disbelievers.
-
For example a doctor patient between believer and nonbelievers in regards to worldly matters is ok to obey.
-
But in matters of Deen, if you obey the disbelievers. they will turn you back on your heels. will make you leave your Deen
-
And then you will become the losers. No success in this world or in the hereafter.
-
During the Battle of Uhud, a group of hypocrites left the muslim army. They were trying to demoralizing the muslims, making them think what is the point of going out to fight.
-
Some people today dont pray themselves and try to get others to not pray as well.
-
Must remain steadfast against these type of people and situations.
-
When you have Imaan and right intentions, Allah’s help will come. dont break your intention. rely on Allah.
-
Allah is your Protector and He is the best of the Helpers.
-
He will not abandon you.
-
But if He does forsake you, who else can help you? Nobody else.
-
Allah has promised to help the believers. Not the hypocrites.
-
We must erase all traits on hypocrisy within us. We must abandon these traits
-
One of their traits: is that they become very argumentative when their position is questioned.
-
soon We will cast extreme terror and fear in the hearts of the disbelievers
-
for they have associated others with Allah. committed shirk.
-
Allah gives no proof for shirk
-
Allah did not send any evidence or any authority for committing shirk.
-
and their refuge will the fire. Hellfire.
-
Wretched are the wrongdoers.
-
Shirk is the worst.
-
The Prophet Sal. said I have been given 5 things which were not given to anyone else before me
-
-
one of those things was Allah made me victorious by awe for a distance of one month’s journey
-
War booty is halal for me, not halal for anyone before me
-
Right of intercession on the Day of Judemgnent
-
Every prophet was sent to his nation, i have been sent to all of mankind
-
Tayammum? The earth was made a masjid, and clean place for me.
-
-
• After the Battle of Uhud – Abu and Sufyan and his army could have gone to Madina and finished off the Muslims. But they didn’t because Allah had put terror in their hearts so they went back
-
And Allah fulfilled His promise to you.
-
When you were killing all them with Allah’s permission. you were dominant. and victorious
-
until you showed weakness, loss of courage, and you saw the war booty and disputed about it among yourselves and you disobeyed after what He showed you that what you love. Allah showed you what you love, victory or war booty.
-
among you from you are those who love this world,
-
and among you are some who love the akihrah, the hereafter
-
and He turned you away from them, from the enemy, so that He can test you.
-
To make your Imaan and more strong.
-
And certainly He pardoned you. He has already forgiven you.
-
For Allah’s bounty and Fadl is upon the believers.. And He also shows favors to them.
-
Have a good supposition about believers, good thoughts for them.
-
Follow the Sunnah in order to be successful.
-
Narrated ‘Uthman: (the son of Muhib) An Egyptian who came and performed the Hajj to the Kaba saw some people sitting. He enquire, “Who are these people?” Somebody said, “They are the tribe of Quraish.” He said, “Who is the Shaikh among them?” The people replied, “He is ‘Abdullah bin ‘Umar.” He said, “O Ibn Umar! I want to ask you about something; please tell me about it. Do you know that ‘Uthman fled away on the day (of the battle) of Uhud?” Ibn ‘Umar said, “Yes.” The (Egyptian) man said, “Do you know that ‘Uthman was absent on the day (of the battle) of Badr and did not join it?” Ibn ‘Umar said, “Yes.” The man said, “Do you know that he failed to attend the Ar Ridwan pledge and did not witness it (i.e. Hudaibiya pledge of allegiance)?” Ibn ‘Umar said, “Yes.” The man said, “Allahu Akbar!” Ibn ‘Umar said, “Come, let me explain to you. As for his flight on the day of Uhud, I testify that Allah has excused him and forgiven him; and as for his absence from the battle of Badr, it was due to the fact that the daughter of Allah’s Apostle was his wife and she was sick then. Allah’s Apostle said to him, “You will receive the same reward and share (of the booty) as anyone of those who participated in the battle of Badr.’ As for his absence from the Ar-Ridwan pledge of allegiance, had there been any person in Mecca more respectable than ‘Uthman (to be sent as a representative). Allah’s Apostle would have sent him instead of him. No doubt, Allah’s Apostle had sent him, and the incident of the Ar-Ridwan pledge of Allegiance happened after ‘Uthman had gone to Mecca. Allah’s Apostle held out his right hand saying, ‘This is ‘Uthman’s hand.’ He struck his (other) hand with it saying, ‘This (pledge of allegiance) is on the behalf of ‘Uthman.’ Then Ibn ‘Umar said to the man, ‘Go now with this with you.’
-
when you climbed up the mountain, due to enemy attacking you. without looking aside. focused on getting away.
-
While the messenger was calling you from behind. To come to him.
-
And Allah repaid you with distress upon distress. Sorrow on top of sorrow.
-
So that you won’t grieve over what you lost.
-
Be positive in every situation. Even in the worst of times. Bc there must be good in even the worst times. Bc you learn smthg very important even in the worst situations.
-
Some things you cannot learn in the classrooms. Smthgs you even learn on the battlefield.
-
After distress. He sent down for you drowsiness. security in the form of drowsiness. for a group of you. slept and woke up feeling refreshed. alleviated fear.
-
The sleepiness descends on the people of Imaan. Overcome by drowsiness here. as a security from Allah
-
While another group was worried about themselves. These were the hypocrites. weak imaan. self centered and were only thinking about themselves.
-
Abu Talhah said, “I was among those who were overcome by slumber during the battle of Uhud. My sword fell from my hand several times and I would pick it up, then it would fall and I would pick it up again.”Bukhari
-
People with high imaan, and lots of difficulties, but still can sleep
-
And then those who have weak imaan, and cannot sleep due to worldly matters bc they think they can control everything. They are the ones of ungrateful.
-
JaHil people are displeased with Allah. They are the ones who are ungrateful.
-
the hypocrites said: why didn’t Muhammad listen to our opinion. Why didn’t anybody listen to us. take our advice?
-
Say: but the matter belongs completely to Allah. victory and defeat belongs to Him only.
-
Hypocrites would hide and conceal inside
-
the hypocrites say if anyone would have listened to us, then nobody would have been lost on the battlefield. If we had been left to decide, then nobody would have died on battlefield.
-
Even if you were in your homes, the ones decreed to die would have died.
-
And so that Allah can test what is your chests and so that He can purify whatever is your hearts.
-
YOU can hide things from Muhammad (saw) but you can’t hide anything from Allah.
-
Hypocrites look for opportunities to blame others. to blame the believers. looking for reasons to leave the battle or war. and then blame the believers.
-
Sincere believers don’t leave the cause that they are part of for the sake of Allah.
-
And so Allah was sifting between the sincere and non sincere ones.
-
Leaving at times of test, is a sign of hypocrisy.
-
Indeed those of you turned back on the day of battle. when mushrik met the muslims. in battle.
-
It was shaytan caused them to slip. The sin that they had committed, where they disobeyed Prophet Muhammad (saw) at the time he was calling them back. This group was overcome by shaytan. He had caused them to slip for a moment.
-
But Allah has forgiven them already. despite all that they did. This has been said about the companions. It has already been said about them
-
It has not been said about us though.!
-
Allah is indeed forgiving and forbearing. tolerant. He doesn’t punish immediately.
-
Even for major sins, like retreating from a battlefield.
-
oh you those who have believed don’t be like the disbelievers. the hypocrites. Dont follow the hypocrites in manners and thought processes
-
Prophet Sal. said:“whoever imitates a nation is one of them”
-
And they said about their brothers, their relatives, or brothers in business dealings, or brothers in hypcrosiy: when they travelled the earth.
-
When they traveled the land for work or trade or any purpose or went out to fight: and died there.
-
or a group of fighters.
-
If the ones that are traveling or gone out for jihad had been with us, they would have not or have been killed. IF they wouldn’t have travelled they would not have died.
-
This is the hypocrites saying all this.
-
They think if you stay home, you don’t die.
-
They would say that That death comes outside the home. That because they left their homes, they died.
-
This misconception is in their hearts. The hearts of the hypocrites.
-
Allah makes this thought, this misconception of theirs a regret in their hearts.
-
Allah made their negative thinking a regret and grief in their hearts.
-
makes them so tired of their regret in their hearts. A big tiring regret in their hearts.
-
Ghuzan = Pl. Ghaazi/Ghaazin (sing.) = غ ز و• A raiding party• A group of fighters, combatants• Ghaazi is a fighter• Ghaza yaghzu = To strive, to go for war, to conquer• Ghazwa is technically used for a battle that Prophet Sal. participated in himself eg. Ghazwa Badr, Ghazwa Uhud
-
Allah is the one Who gives life and gives death. Its not because you do or don’t leave your home.
-
Allah is seeing of ALL that you do.
-
Time and place of death is already ordained by Allah.
-
Allah does not want the believers to fall into the thinking and wrong beliefs of the hypocrites.
-
Death reaches a person when it is meant to reach them
-
Hypocrites did not have Imaan on the decree of Allah.
-
Speaking like this wrong, it angers Allah. And will not bring the dead back to life. It shows you are not happy with the planning and decisions, and decree of Allah.
-
Death is in the hands of Allah.
-
Believe in the divine decree of Allah. Its very important. for ALL
-
analyze your own conversations, what is in your heart is what you will express in times of happiness and sorrow.
-
That is why Allah tests people, so that reality is made evident. So that the reality is seen.
-
Abu Huraira (radiallaho unho) reported Allah’s Messenger (salallahoalaihi wasallam) as saying: “A strong believer is better and is more lovable to Allah than a weak believer, and there is good in everyone, (but) cherish that which gives you benefit (in the Hereafter) and seekhelp from Allah and do not lose heart, and if anything (in the form oftrouble) comes to you, don’t say: If I had not done that, it would not have happened so and so, but say: Allah did that what He had ordainedto do and your “if” opens the (gate) for the Satan.”
-
How can you spread peace when there is no peace within you.
-
Are you always unhappy about smthg inside? Why me?etc.
-
Or are you happy and satisfied with the decree of Allah.
-
All His decisions are based on His perfect wisdom.
-
our decisions are not based on any perfection or wisdom.
-
we have desires due to our love for dunYa and thats what we base our decisions on.
-
We must leave a part of the world.
-
Nobody can die without permission of Allah.
-
Whatever Allah intends will happen the way He intends. No doubt about that.
-
Quran shows you a mirror like nothing else does.
-
Hold on to the Quran and Sunnah. See and fix your blemishes and shortcomings.
-
And if you die in the way of Allah, on the battlefield, or performing hajj or umrah, or pursuit of knowledge, student of knowledge.
-
And die some other way, due to illness. at home or some other way.
-
If you are killed in the way of Allah or die. then mercy from Allah is better for you than whatever people accumulate in this world.
-
Forgiveness and mercy from Allah is better for you than whatever is gathered in this world
-
Prophet Sal. said“The martyr who dies in the way of Allah is forgiven from the 1st drop of blood he sheds”
-
Don’t seek to just amass the wealth of this world, seek to gain the pleasure of Allah. Desire to do this.
-
what you accumulate for the hereafter is much better than the temporary you amass in this world.
-
Prophet Sal. said:“A small a place equal to an area occupied by a whip in Paradise is better than the whole world and whatever is in it”
-
whether you die or are killed.
-
to Allah you will surely gather.
-
eventually death will overtake you. you cannot hide from it
-
Everybody should want to live longer, but death will come regardless.
-
And we should have to have the desire to meet Allah.
-
Hadith : Prophet Sal. said that Allah said :“If My servant loves to meet Me, I love to meet him and if My servant hates to meet Me then I also hate to meet him
-
Dont fear death, but prepare for it.
-
Only because of much mercy from Allah, Muhammad (saw) you were lenient with the sahabah, his companions.
-
If you were harsh, rude and hard harsh heart, in speech, they would have disbanded from you. they would have scattered away from you. they would have left.
-
Once the Prophet Sal. kissed his two grandsons (Hasan and Husain) and a man was sitting beside him and upon seeing this he said “I have 10 children, and I have never kissed any one of them”. Allah’s Messenger cast a look on him and said “whoever is not merciful to others will not be treated mercifully”
-
So pardon them, erase it, overlook it, dont seek revenge. forgive them.
-
and ask forgiveness for them. Make dua for them. This requires courage. this is difficult if someone has wronged you. but still forgive them and ask forgiveness for them.
-
and consult them in the matter. Consult in the future as well. In important matters.
-
and when you have decided after consultation on important matters, rely on Allah.
-
Indeed Allah loves those who rely on Him. Bc they dont waste their lives, worrying unnecessarily.
-
People are human and make mistakes. We all make mistakes. Forgive others and overlook. and still consult with each other. otherwise we cannot progress.
-
Consulting is important bc then a team works together. and others are involved with their ideas and opinions. so that you don’t become a one man show. dictator like. so consult to decide together. entrust others with their opinions and advice.
-
Hadith : Prophet Sal said:“When someone is consulted for advice, he should give the advice he wants for himself”
-
Hadith : Narrated by Abu Hurairah (Tirmizi)“I have not seen anyone who consults more with his companions than the Prophet Muhammad (saw).”
-
giving others importance, means they will give you their support.
-
Shaawir = ش و ر• Shoora is consultation• Seeking advice, seeking other people’s opinion• Shara yashooru means to collect honey from the hive• If you want something good you cant take it from one place, you have to consult with different people and take advice
-
Fazzan = ف ظ ظ• Fazz literally applies to filthy liquid inside the intestines• Fazz also applies to a person who is very rude, harsh• Primarily it refers to someone who is harsh, rude and impolite in their character and speech eg. uses foul language
-
Hadith : The Prophet Sal. said :“Indeed Allah has commanded me to be forgiving and well-wishing for the people as He has commanded me to establish the Fara’idh (the obligations)”
-
Hadith : Muslim/Ahmed – Prophet Sal. said:Forbidden upon the fire, is every humble, soft, easy and close to the people
-
Explanation of Hadith:
-
-
Hayyinin = the person is humble, he does not think of himself as great
-
Layinin = soft, he listens to you
-
Sahlin = easy going, easy to deal, he does not shout, argue
-
Qaribeen = approachable, close to people. ready to meet everyone.
-
-
Gist of a Hadith by Muslim – Prophet Sal. said“The people of Jannah will be of 3 kinds and one of which is a 1) man who shows mercy to his relatives”, 2)just ruler, 3)pious who has large family and refrains from begging.
-
If Allah helps you, then nobody else can overcome you.
-
nobody else can dominate you.
-
But if He should forsake you, than who can come help you?? who can save you then?
-
believers should rely upon Allah. Only Allah.
-
Allah should be the top priority
-
If Allah is on our side, we need nobody and nothing else.
-
If you support the Deen of Allah, He will protect you. He will help you.
-
Yakhzul = خ ذ ل• To abandon someone• Khizhlan means to abandon someone• To leave someone un-helped• Basically the word Khazhlan is for someone who betrays the other• He assures him of help and assistance and at the time of need, this person abandons you, leaves you on your own• Khizhlan is an extremely treacherous person• Shaytan is called Khazhool – because he induces and then leaves you and on the Day of Judgment he will just not come to your aidSo Allah questions “who is there other than Allah who can help you?”
-
and it doesn’t suit that any prophet would he deceives. or does any treachery. that he would act unfaithfully.
-
that he doesn’t convey the message truthfully. that he doesn’t fully convey what is difficult.
-
it is not attributable to a prophet.
-
he has to convey the truth whether people like it or not. they cannot keep silent
-
It is appropriate that they would act this way
-
Also this could mean that it is not attributable or suit that a prophet would be unfaithful. Would not take the war booty and keep it.
-
But instead a prophet would make sure it is distributed properly
-
When the Muslims were winning the Battle of Uhud at the beginning – some Muslims were gathering around the war booty. When the 40 archers saw this they became concerned and worried that there won’t be anything left for them if they don’t go after the war booty. So they left their positions and went after the spoils of war. Before Islam it was a custom that whenever there was a battle whoever got to the war booty would get to keep it. After Islam, this law changed. The Prophet Sal. brought the law that whenever there was a battle, the war booty will be collected in one place and everything even a needle would be gathered and the Prophet will distribute it amongst army. These 40 arches were concerned that if they don’t go they won’t get anything. So over here Allah is saying that it is not for any prophet that he acts unfaithfully – A prophet will never make this happen will not allow war booty to be taken in this manner – he will make sure that this war booth is distributed equally among the army.
-
Umar bin Al Khatthab said during the Battle of Khyber several companions of the Messenger of Allah came to him and said “so and so died as a martyr, so and so died as a martyr”. When they mentioned a certain man who died as a martyr, the Messenger of Allah said : “no I have seen him in the Hellfire, because of a robe he stole from the booty”
-
Hadith : Prophet Sal. said :“By Him in whose Hand my soul is “whoever takes anything from the resources of the zakat, he will carry it on his neck on the Day of Resurrection. If it be a camel it will be grunting, if it be a cow, it will be mooing and if it be a sheep it will be bleating” the Prophet then raised his arm till we saw the whiteness of his arm pit and he said 3 times “O Allah haven’t I conveyed your message”
-
And whoever deceives, he will bring with him what he deceived on the day of Judgement. it will be brought forth.
-
Then everybody will be paid in full, what every soul earned, and they will not be wronged.
-
A person must cleanse the heart. cannot anything from Allah
-
betrayal is not attributable to a prophet. a believer should not have this trait either.
-
think which habits and traits do we need let go of, and which ones do we need to adopt.
-
think of the hypocrites.
-
perform 2 rakah each time you slip and make a mistake. ask Allah for guidance and help and forgiveness.
-
Ghulul: The worst Ghulul (stealing)…. is…(screenshot)
-
Priority of the person is to gain pleasure of Allah
-
Second person is the one who earns the anger
-
Are the two the same?
-
both persons are not equal.
-
both are not similar. they are not the same.
-
the second persons refugee is Hellfire.
-
Sakhathin = س خ ط• Anger• It is the opposite of Ridwaan• It is used for the first level of anger• Ghaiz (2nd level of anger) and Ghadab (3rd level of anger)• So Sakhath is when a person is upset with the other because they have done something against their will. You ask someone to do something and they don’t do it. So this is disapproval and displeasure because of them going against you
-
There is a difference in terms of intentions, deeds and outcomes of these two types of people. So ask yourself which person am i?
-
Are my deeds a means of earning Allah’s pleasure or His disapproval?
-
Know which deeds do which one.
-
Check our intentions.
-
There will be different ranks and degrees of people, near Allah.
-
Allah is seeing of everything and whatever you do.
-
Ranks are based on how much you do here.
-
Levels, ranks are based on intention, words, actions.
-
Determined based on these things.
-
Check our intentions, words and actions.
-
Add all this up and this will equal our ranks up near Allah.
-
Grades are far more accurate in the hereafter. In the world, sometimes the marks get marked wrong. But in the Hereafter, everybody will get what they actually deserve.
-
The greatest degree, is with the highest Imaan, through best better actions.
-
that Imaan is proved with actions, words and intentions etc.
-
we are only worried about our ranks here
-
Each prostration increases your rank. the amount of ranks are the distance of the skies and earth.
-
Do we ever think about our status in the eyes of Allah? about our status in the hereafter
-
We might be admired, loved and respected by people here, but what about the hereafter
-
Coming of the Prophet Muhammad (saw) is a huge favor to us from Allah.
-
He was sent to all of humanity. He was sent from his people so that they have similar origins and can connect with the people. same language.
-
It was a huge favor from Allah.
-
He is of Arabs, not a foreigner to them. not a stranger to them. he was familiar to them.
-
He was well known to them, knew his qualities, same language as them, means of honor that he was among them. It was a huge and wise decision to choose from among them
-
He recited to them the verses. Verses of Allah. He recited the verses as he heard them from Jibraeel.
-
He, Prophet Muhammad (saw) would explain the meaning of the verses as well.
-
He would also recite with regards to commands and implementation.
-
And he purifies them. Cleans by getting rid of bad and adorning with good and clean. Thazkiyah. purification of the inside and the outside. tangible and intangibly.
-
Keeping clean neat and tidy in terms of outer, adoption Miswaq, wudu, etc.
-
purification inside as well; purify the heart, instill purity in the heart, and good manners. etc.
-
and teaching them the book, gradually according to need. Ensuring what is being taught is being learnt and understood. Taleem. Process of reading and teaching. Preparing the students to be able to teach later on.
-
Scholars leave behind knowledge as inheritance.
-
And he taught them the Hikmah, explanation of the book. the sunnah. his words and his actions explaining the book as well. Hikmah is putting things where they do belong. Opposite of zhulm.
-
and Before all this, before the messenger, they were for sure clearly under misguidance.
-
without learning teaching, there is no progress in society. misguidance and people will go astray.
-
There are such less people who are willing to learn the Book and then teach it onwards.
-
Why is that a single disaster struck you at Uhud, although you had struck one with twice as great. at Badr. the disbelievers you struck twice as bad at Badr.
-
you say: how? where is this from?
-
they would question this setback. Why were they questioning this one disaster?
-
Say: it is from yourselves.
-
This defeat is because of what you have done. bc you disobeyed explicit orders.
-
you were shown smthg you were attracted to, and this led you disobey and sin. You left your duty ( the archers.) after you were showed smthg you love.
-
The weakness of our naFs causes us to deviate and deter from our goal, our mission, our intentions.
-
we must remain steadfast, especially! when we are shown smthg we love.
-
Allah is over all things competent
-
what struck you on the day of the battle when two armies met.
-
This defeat came with the permission of Allah.
-
So that He can make evident the true believers. those who have true Imaan.
-
Allah knows who are true in IMAAN and true believers. But He wanted to make it evident to the people who is the true believer and who isn’t.
-
• Abu Sufyan’s proclamation “Glory be to Hubal”- this was painful for the Sahaba.
-
So that He can made evident those who are hypocrites
-
for it was said to the hypocrites to come and fight with us. in the way of Allah.
-
they would say: if we had known there was fighting we would have followed you.
-
but this is just an excuse made by them, the hypocrites. this is the excuses people make when they don’t want to do things. long list of excuses.
-
Hypocrites always had a long list of excuses.
-
they were neared to disbelieve at the day of Uhud. than to Imaan. on that day of the battle of Uhud, they were closer to disbelieving.
-
When Abdullah bin Ubay left with his 300 companions – a true believer Abdullah bin Haram went after him to speak to him asking him not to leave. But they said “if we knew there was fighting we would have gone”. They also said no one listened to them. So they were making excuses
-
And they wanted the Muslims to face loss and be defeat
-
they say with their mouths what is NOT in their hearts.
-
Allah is knowing of everything you hide.
-
Allah wanted to sift the believers from the unbelievers at the battle of Uhud.
-
what sacrifices are we willing to make during difficult times. We cannot hide anything from Him, be sincere and honest to Him and those around you.
-
Hypocrites would speak about their brothers, the Ansar. while sitting at home.
-
hypocrites would say: staying home from battlefield means you don’t die. if you would have obeyed us, stayed home and not gone out to battlefield. you would not have died… this is what they would say
-
We should not sit and comment like this. If you can’t say anything good about someone then don’t say anything at all.
-
Allah says: then prevent death from yourselves, if you can. if you are truthful.
-
It is said that, 70 hypocrites died somewhere besides the battlefield. Meaning they would say, going out to the battlefield is what got those believers killed, but Allah caused these hypocrites to die even off the battlefield. Meaning going out to fight in the battlefield is not where everyone will die.
-
You die where and when Allah is decreed it for you.
-
Hypocrites believed and said otherwise.
-
battle took plac e with the permission of Allah.the way He wanted it to.to make clear the believers and kufr/hypocrites etc.
-
it was made it quite clear that day.
-
And never think, never assume, of those killed in the cause of Allah, as dead.
-
Prophet Muhammad and his followers are addressed.
-
never think of them dead like others. Don’t consider them dead.
-
Rather they are alive.
-
with their Lord receiving provision. They are alive.
-
Rizq is anything that is given as benefit. shelter, food, drink, etc.
-
Barzaakh: state of existence between the point of death and day of Judgement
-
3 stages:
-
-
Life of this world,
-
life of Barzaakh ( where pure and righteous kept together and the wrong doers and evil are kept together. We dont really know what happens to them.) ( Souls of the righteous and pure are kept inside green birds. wandering about paradise wherever they wish. They eat the fruits of Jannah).
-
then there is life of the hereafter
-
-
So those who die in the way of Allah. in the path towards Allah.
-
They will be in a special state. their life is better than this world, their provision will be better than what they could get here.
-
Life of here, this world is very inferior to hereafter.
-
They are rejoicing in the bounty of Allah. and whatever else Allah has given them. from His bounty. His limitless bounty.
-
they receive good tidings about those who are to be matryr after them,
-
and will be joining them soon, in these high ranks. so the martyrs rejoicing hearing this good news about their friends and relatives that could be coming bc they are on the right path as well.
-
So they the martyrs are happy and content hearing this, good news.
-
there will be no fear concerning them (the ones still alive in the world), nor will they grieve. (those who are still in the world)
-
believers spread the good, include others in the acts of righteous and rejoice when others are doing good deeds and actions as well.
-
Believers are genuine well wishers.
-
So the martyrs experience the beauty and wonderfulness of Jannah and are enthusiastic and happy to know that others will join them there. and want others to experience it too.
-
they receive these blessings and they rejoice.
-
believer in this world never thinks he has done enough and then when he dies in the way of Allah he is happy to receive the blessings there which he prob was not expecting
-
the martyr receives bounty of Allah … when they receives Jannah they rejoice the blessings ….. they receive good tidings and fadl from Allah more and more and they were recompensed because of their effort … here fadl means extra and more reward …. and Allah does not waste the rewards of His believers….. they will receive complete reward in Jannah…… they will feel peace and contentment in the state of barzakh and also in Jannah and on the day of judgment they will be accountable and then will receive their real destination i,e Jannah
-
Those who responded positively to Messenger.
-
believers left Uhud. and returned to Makkah?
-
The believers contemplated. Should we return to Madinah.
-
believers got up a second time in obedience to Muhammad (saw). even though they were hungry tired and wounded. this is when Muhammad (saw) asked them to get up and go again the very next day after Uhud.
-
this was the strength of their imaan.
-
Mah-bad Uzzai was a well wishers for the muslims. he was not fighting but had alliance with the muslims. He went to the makkan army, went to Abu Sufyan, advised them to not go to madinah and fight the muslims, told them that the muslims are very angry and ready to fight more. so they decided to go back to Makkah ( Abu Sufyan and the mushrik)
-
Those who, they responded positively to Allah and His messenger. even after thye were injured and tired and devastated.
-
For those who did good among them, excellent good. despite having wounds on their body they will got up. they are being praised for this by Allah.
-
and those who feared Allah. they obeyed
-
For them is GREAT reward.
-
when a person believes in Allah, Allah tests them. And they aren’t test in normal conditions either. He tests in unique ways, extraordinary measures.
-
This is why the sahabah are praised.
-
Those who said to the people. They (the hypocrites or non believers )
-
they said that the enemies have gathered against you
-
This saying only strengthened the believers even more.
-
these false scares, scare tactics didn’t bother the believers.
-
they, the muslims then said: sufficient is for us Allah. and He is the one we trust with all our affairs.
-
so this increased the imaan of the believers, especially at times of difficulty.
-
and it only scares the hypocrites
-
dont always need large armies for success. need Allah’s help only. He has all might and all power.
-
Patience is at the first stroke of calamity.
-
Hadith by Ath-Thabarani: Whoever says these words (Hasbunallahi Ni’mal Wakeel) when he has a fear of something or someone, Allah releases that person from the fear of that thing
-
Ayesha Rali. said that the Prophet Sal. was grieved, he would say these words (Hasbunallahi Ni’mal Wakeel) over and over
-
So they The Sahaba returned with favor from Allah. to safety reward and honor. didn’t have to face battle.
-
didn’t have to face the enemy, bc no battle took place, bc mushrik had returned to Makkah with Abu Sufyan already.
-
returned with honor, safety, reward,.
-
and this boosted their moral even more
-
ran into a caravan on the way back and returned with some profit
-
they received the full reward of the intention that they got up again to go out and fight again. even though they didn’t have to fight again.
-
They had intended to go out and put effort for Allah. they went out and marched forth to attain what they wanted. but didn’t attain it, but they are still rewarded for it, bc of their effort and intention.
-
they returned safe and sound with Full reward for that intention.
-
with no harm touching them
-
and received the pleasure of Allah.
-
Allah is possessor of Great Bounty. the amount of what is available in Jannah is unimaginable
-
when someone dies while in journey etc. If there is a deed that they would regularly do and were not able to due to sickness or death, but will be rewarded for the full deed that they regularly did.as if they still were doing it.
-
Allah rewards even the good intentions a person has.
-
Hadith Prophet Sal. said, He who intends to do a good deed but does not do it, Allah records it for him as a full good deed, Ref. Nisa:100
-
Hadith Abu Musa al-Ash’ari reports that the Prophet, peace be upon him, said: “If a servant (of Allah) falls sick or goes on a journey, he (continues to be) rewarded for the good deeds that he used to do when he was healthy or at home.” (Bukhari)
-
Students of knowledge are in the path of Allah. Are learning to teach and spread it to others. Bc that is what will be left behind, that is the heir that will be left behind. Knowledge is what they leave behind.
-
It is only shaitan who tries to get you to fear his followers.
-
But you should not fear them, that is important that you dont fear them and shaitan.
-
Fear just Allah. fear Me, if you are true believers. this is the most important.
-
he came and was scaring the believers. He didn’t come as a human but was spreading and threatening with was-wasa, in a person ( Hamra al-Asad) who came to scare the muslims. To weaken the resolve of a believer. to weaken the intention of the believers. was-wasa in the heart bc thats where our intentions are.
-
Shaitan is not powerful against Allah.
-
every disobedient person is a believer and follower of shaitan.
-
He even puts the thoughts that “you are so righteous and pious compared to others, rest today and dont pray today..”
-
No one is owner or controller of loss and gain besides Allah.
-
fear of natural things is normal: spiders, snakes, rats, etc.
-
cowardliness is other level.
-
Dont be grieved by people who hasten into disbelief. Grief can be destructive. prevents from doing things. Dont be grieved by the enemies of Allah. Jews, mushrik, hypocrites.
-
Prophet Sal. used to make dua “O Allah I seek refuge in from you from sorrow and grief”
-
They would join together and try to fight muslims together.
-
Indeed they will never harm Allah at all. in any way at all. small or big. they cannot cause loss to Him at all. They cannot reach Him
-
Allah intends to not give them any portion share in hereafter. Their strive is only for this world.
-
And for them is a great punishment
-
Prophet Muhammad (saw) had great desire to bring these people on the right path. He was grieved about this. that they were not believing and coming to the right path. He also feared that they the disbelievers would join forces and come against Islam.
-
But Allah reassures, they cannot harm Allah in any way, at All. they will not be able to extuinguish the light islam.
-
Hypocrites preferred kufr or Imaan. They exchanged disbelief for faith.
-
Never will they be able to harm Allah.
-
and for them is the most painful punishment.
-
They are only causing loss to themselves.
-
And let not anyone think that bc We extend their long life and luxuries in this world. Despite their Kufr, should not think this is better for them
-
We only extend it for them, so that they may increase in sin. and for them is a humiliating punishment.
-
they are given respite.
-
blessings are also tests.
-
Abu Bakr Rali. said that there was a man who came to the Prophet Sal. and said O messenger of Allah, which people are the best? He said : “whose life is long and his actions are good”. Then he asked “which people are the worst?” Prophet Sal. said : “whose life is long and his actions are the worst”
-
Al muminun v 55-56
-
Al Tawbah v 85
-
Allah will not leave you in a state when cannot tell the difference between believers and hypocrites or non disbelievers.
-
Nor will He reveal to you the unseen. meaning you will not be able to know what is their hearts. state of peoples hearts is made evident by tests.
-
and He only informs the messengers He chooses to inform the knowledge of some of the unseen.
-
Prophet Muhammad (saw) was told, he told Hudhaifa. And Hudhaifa told nobody else.
-
kept that secret. didn’t reveal the names.
-
• It says in Surah Tauba that Allah revealed to Prophet Sal. all the names of the Hypocrites in Madinah. This was essential for him to know so he could safeguard the Muslims from them.
-
• Prophet Sal. just told one man about the names of the Hypocrites – this was a man named Huzaifa Rali. also known as the Confidante of the Prophet Sal.
-
• Allah didn’t reveal the names to everyone for their were true believers who had some relatives who had hypocrisy in their hearts and Allah didn’t reveal their names for it will be a means of shame for that person.
-
• Huzaifa Rali. never once revealed to anyone the names of those Hypocrites to anyone alive.
-
therefore believe in Allah and His messengers. If you have faith and guard against evil have taqwah. then you shall have a great reward
-
And let anyone be stingy with what Allah has given you. from His bounty, dont think that it, that stinginess is better for them. They are holding for them what is not even theirs in the first place. So trying to hoard it is wrong. its not yours to begin with. With stinginess wealth is wasted.
-
Rather it is worst to hold on ,to be stingy, to hoard.
-
the wealth that they are hoarding will be a collar around their necks.
-
Al-Bukhari and Muslim relate from Abu Hurairah that the Prophet, upon whom be peace, said: “Whoever is made wealthy by Allah and does not pay zakah on his wealth, on the Day of Judgment it will become a bald-headed, poisonous, male snake with two black spots over his eyes. The snake, on the Day of Judgment, will encircle his neck, and bite his cheeks and say: ‘I am your treasure, I am your wealth.
-
Sa-yuthawwiqoo • سNear future (meaning in the Hereafter)• ط و ق =is used for a Neck Collar (so when a neck collar is around your neck, it is difficult to move)• So they will be collard. Something will be put around their neck, it will be tied around their neck. The wealth that they did not spend will be tied around their neck
-
everything that is the heavens and the skies is for Allah.
-
Allah is fully aware of all where you are spending and not spending
-
Allah hears the statement that people (Jews) say that Allah is poor and we are rich.
-
Ibn Abbas said When the verse “who is it that will give to Allah a beautiful loan” (2:245) was revealed, the Jews sneered and they blasphemously mocked the Quran saying “Is Allah in need”, “Your God is poor” and in fact a Jew named Bin Haaz when to Abu Bakr Rali. and said “We don’t need your God, in fact your God needs money” (naoozubillah)
-
Abu Hurairah narrated, Prophet Sal. said:“Stinginess and Iman can never be gathered in the heart of a servant”
-
Soon it will be recorded what they are saying. to use as evidence against you.
-
and their killing of prophets without right.
-
they will be told to taste the torment punishment of the burning fire. Fully experience it.
-
jews and people are so rebellious that they forget that their words and actions are being recorded and will be used against you. Bc they have no fear and belief in Allah. and the Deen. they had no knowledge.
-
this is what your hands have put forth. for you in the hereafter.
-
most actions are done with our hands. the whole person. meaning what you have done.
-
and bc Allah is not the least bit unjust to his servants, ever.
-
He stays completely away from Zhulm (Injustice.
-
On the authority of Abu Dhar al-Ghifari, radiyallahu ‘anhu, that the Prophet, sallallahu alayhi wasallam, said, of what he related from his Lord, magnified and exhalted be He, Who said:”O My servants, I have made oppression unlawful for Me and unlawful for you, so do not commit oppression against one another. [Muslim]
-
Those who said that Allah took our promise from us ( jews saying this)
-
to not to believe in any messenger until He brings to us a sacrifice that fire will consume.
-
This was made up by the Jews.
-
They said this because for previous messengers and nations the spoils of wars was not allowed
-
When the war booty was collected in one place and the fire from heaven would consume it. But this was prior to Islam. This is not with the Deen of Islam.
-
Prophet sal and his companies were the first for whom war booty was made halal
-
Say to them ( Muhammad say to them): “there have been to you messengers with clear proofs before me. and even that of what you speak. the sacrifice consumed with fire. then why did you kill them? if you should be truthful?”
-
Why did you kill them, why didn’t you believe them?
-
Allah is refuting their negative propaganda
-
So if they deny you. Jews deny Muhammad (saw).
-
messengers before you were also denied. who brought clear proofs and scriptures.
-
Zabur is for writing in clear dark font
-
Original Torah and Original Injeel. These were also there before and still they denied.
-
so dont worry that they dont believe or accept you, dont grieve.
-
Allah is consoling them.
-
Every soul will taste death. Will go through death
-
Nafs: soul and body and soul combination
-
Every possessor of soul will pass through death. Every single one. any living creature.
-
Yaqeen:
-
-
witnessing it
-
knowledge of it
-
experiencing and tasting it
-
-
There are 3 levels of Yakeen- Conviction
-
-
1. Ilmul yakeen – when you listen to a news
-
2. Aiyinul Yakeen – when you see something happen with your own eyes
-
3. Haqqul yakeen – when you taste and experience it
-
-
before the experience of death, we should prepare for it.
-
and you will be given your full compensation on the day of Qiyamah.
-
partial reward is in the world and its temporary
-
And whoever is saved from the hellfire and admitted to Jannah, they are the true successful.
-
and the life of this world is nothing but a temporary delusion. temporary enjoyment.
-
Meaning of temporary benefit that is deceivingEg. you buy something and then you realize how useless it is after sometimeSimilarly when you are in the Dunya you are enjoying it, you think its very good but very soon you will realize that it was all a deception – it was not forever
-
make dua that our death reaches at a time when we are doing good.
-
You believers, will surely be tested.
-
To distinguish between the non believers.
-
This world is full of tests.
-
Signs of these tests will be evident.
-
Trials are different, sometimes tested with good and sometimes with evil.
-
Naml v40.
-
Through your wealth and your lives.
-
wealth- It can make you neglect your duties. should give zakat and go for hajj. but you aren’t doing that. You will tested in all ways in regards to your wealth.
-
Lives: through death, calamities, cuts, wounds, injuries, fatigue, death.
-
emotional hurt, difficulties during Hajj, etc. these are all trials.
-
everything changes in this life, its always changing. Trials are of all sorts.
-
test is in the time of difficulty and comfort how do you react.
-
these will be the worldly matter tests
-
and there are the religious matter tests- in the way of Deen.
-
And you surely hear from the jews and christians and the polthesists/quraish, makkans, you hear from them much abuse/hurt.
-
But if you are patient during this testing time, and fear Him, and trust Him.
-
These are the matters that you need have firm resolve.
-
One of those things one must have firm resolve.
-
Its not impossible, its difficult.
-
matters that have been made incumbent on you.
-
Hadith :
-
-
Abu Hurayrah, may Allaah be pleased with him, narrated that a man once badmouthed Abu Bakr, may Allaah be pleased with him, while the Prophet sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam was sitting with them, and the Prophet sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam expressed wonder and smiled. The man continued, and after he had said much more, Abu Bakr, may Allaah be pleased with him, retorted with some of the same, which caused the Prophet sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam to get up (to leave) with an angry expression on his face. Abu Bakr, may Allaah be pleased with him, said: ‘O Messenger of Allaah! He badmouthed me while you were sitting there! Why did you become upset and leave when I answered back to some of what he had said?’ The Prophet sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam said: “You had an angel retorting on your behalf (when you where silent), but when you began answering him back (i.e., the man), Satan arrived, and I was not going to sit in the presence of Satan.” Then he sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam said: “O Abu Bakr! Here are three matters, all of which are true: Whenever a man is oppressed but forgives for the sake of Allaah the Most High and the Almighty, then Allaah will honour him with victory…” [Ahmad]
-
-
mention the oath taken by jews and christians.
-
make the Book and signs of last messenger evident to people. Dont hide it. dont conceal it.
-
But they they threw it away behind their backs. ( the oath) meaning that they forgot or ignored the oath. didn’t act according to the covenant.
-
They exchanged a small price temporary benefit of this world. for their leadership for this world.
-
How evil is this purchase of theirs.
-
it is responsibility of the knowledgeable to spread the Deen and this knowledge. should not conceal it.
-
Hadith :Prophet Sal. said“Whoever is asked about knowledge and then he conceals it, he will be made to wear a bridle of fire on the Day of Judgment”
-
Spread it: words, tongue, writing, phone, speech, actions.
-
never think that those who rejoice in what they are doing and perpetrating. never think they are secure. boasting about what they did here. dont think they are safe.
-
those who loved to be praised. Those who rejoice in their misdeeds and wish to be praised. for what they have actually not done.
-
they should never think they are safe from punishment.
-
one person who works to show off.
-
the other person who says they have done the deed without actually doing it. they show off with out having done it.
-
both are wrong, and unsafe from punishment.
-
and for them is a very painful punishment
-
Hadith : Abu Sayd Al-Qudri Rali said :During the time of the Messenger of Allah, when the Messenger would go to battle, some men would remain behind and rejoice because they did not accompany the Prophet Sal. in battle. When the Messenger came back they would ask him to excuse them swearing to have some excuse and wanting to be praised for that which they did not do
-
and to Allah belongs what is the heavens and the earth. the dominion of the heavens and earth. and over all things He is competent.
-
In the creation the skies and earth, alteration of night and day.
-
In the creations their are signs
-
created from nothing. from no prior sample.
-
no brakes or rifts in His creation of the skies.
-
Earth has been filled with benefits for people. He has created all this.
-
From nothing.
-
to smthg.
-
there are indeed signs to those who understand.
-
In all this there are signs that point to Allahs greatness and mercy
-
Night and day. different in length in different seasons, different in temperature, different in brightness, different in heaviness, these are all alternations.
-
There are signs in all this creation for us to understand
-
signs in this that there is: One creator, His mercy, His perfect wisdom and complete knowledge.
-
Seeing these signs leads us to remember Allah more. this means we have a level of understanding.
-
Who remember Allah while standing, siting , and lying on their sides. and they think about the creation.
-
think and ponder and reflect on thought of creations and different aspects of things, and come to understand the reality.
-
These are possessors of intellect
-
they give thought to heaven and the earth.
-
dont take the blessings and creations for granted.
-
they realize that our Lord you didn’t create us without purpose or aimlessly?
-
Exalted are You.
-
Declaring Allahs perfection. Above creating smthg aimelslesly
-
then protect us from the punishment of the Fire.
-
reflection not in vain, think of the Who created it, and why He created it.
-
Created by One being, for a reason, not in vain
-
Hadith : Ayesha Rali said :“The Messenger of Allah used to remember Allah at all times”
-
Umar Ibn Abdul Aziz used to say “Reflecting upon the blessings of Allah is the highest form of worship
-
Sufyan Ibn Uyaina said “reflecting is light that enters your heart”
-
Amir bin Abdh Qays said : I have heard more than one Sahaba say “The light of Iman is reflection”
-
Wahab Bin Munabbi said:“Whoever reflects a lot will understand the reality of things and whoever understands the reality of things he will gain true knowledge and whoever gains true knowledge will definitely act upon it”
-
It is said that Abdullah bin Umar would leave his city and would travel to a remote area and he said: “where are your people?” and then he would respond himself: Everything will perish except the Face of Allah”
-
Bishar Haafi said :“If people reflected on the majesty and greatness and grandeur of Allah they would not be able to disobey Him”
-
our Lord, whoever you admit to the Fire for a little while or forever, You have disgraced him
-
due to defect or absence of Imaan,
-
Nasir helps a person out of difficulty
-
the wrongdoers, the ones who zhulm will be admitted to fire. and they will have no help on the Day of judgment.
-
And they will be disgraced and embarrassed.
-
being thrown into the Fire, in front of everyone!
-
real humiliation is the humiliation in the Akhirah.
-
Oh our Lord we have heard a caller. calling loudly. referring to Prophet Muhammad (saw) and other messengers. Who invited people to the truth.
-
calling to faith. directly or through others.
-
Nida: to call loudly.
-
Calling to imaan. Showing utmost belief in your Lord.
-
the callers are : saying believe in your Lord. In Your Lord. Creator owner and planner.
-
and we say: we believe, we accept.
-
So forgive our sins hidden and open. Hide our sins. protect us from those major sins we do
-
remove from us our misdeeds. minor sins.
-
Kaffara: expiation. for negligence a person committed. expiation done through with righteous actions.
-
Munadhee = ن د ى• Harf nida• Nidha is to call out to someone loudly• To address someone loudly• Munadhee is one does Nidha, one who calls, a caller, a summoner Who is this Munadhee• This Munadhee could be prophet Sal. • It can also refer to Quran
-
So the Munadhee he is Yunadhee – he calls people to Iman, faith (Iman in Allah)
-
Kaffir = ك ف ر • Literally it means to cover, to hide something• Thafkeer is to cover and also to wipe off, to erase somethingMeaning of Kaffir-anna Sayyiathina• Remove our sins from us whether in removing they have to be covered or whether in removing they have to be wiped off
-
And cause us to die with righteous. and join us with the righteous.
-
• When a person performs righteous actions it’s a means of removing minor sins – for example from salah to the next salah – the minor sins that are committed in the middle are wiped away, from one Ramadan to the next Ramadan, from one Umrah to another Umrah, one jummah to the other.
-
and grant us what You promised us through Your messengers.
-
the blessings and jannah.
-
Make those promises come true for us.
-
give us that
-
dont disgrace us on the Day of Judgment. by our bad deeds being exposed and Hellfire.
-
give us what You promised for this world and the next. Grant us here and there.
-
And He responded
-
indeed He doesn’t waste the work of the workers. from you all. male and female.
-
Some of you are from others. Those who migrated. and were expelled our from their home, evicted.
-
Hijrah: leave harm, leave land kufr and go to land of Imaan to practice your faith freely, leave a land that is full of disobedience to a land that has more obedience to Allah,
-
These are the types of migrations.
-
were hurt in their way towards of Allah. Hramed in Allahs cause.
-
and those who fought and were killed
-
Allah will surely wipe away their mistakes. erase them
-
they who were inflicted with these hardships.
-
we feel remorse and pity for them
-
But Allah honors such people. He rewards them from near Him.
-
And Allah has with Him the best reward. for them
-
dont be deceived by the free movement of people traveling and moving about.
-
those traveling all over the place. with no visa or traveling issues.
-
dont be deceived when you see others being able to do this.
-
wanting to do what they do, is deception.
-
but that is not true success.
-
dont want to do what you see others doing, bc that is not true happiness or success.
-
free uninhabited movement about the land is small enjoyment.
-
then their final refuge is Hell.
-
• Do not be deceived by the free movement of the disbelievers in the land – that they are travelling, crossing borders, no visa issues, no discrimination because they don’t wear Hijab etc.
-
it is a small enjoyment, temporary enjoyment and short term benefits.
-
then their rest place is hell.
-
and How bad is that resting place.
-
no benefit in this freedom that will results in Hell
-
But those who fear their Lord, for them are rivers flowing underneath gardens,
-
prepared for those who descend.
-
and indeed people from the scriptures are people who also believe in Allah.
-
and what ever was revealed to you, the Quran,
-
Torah and Injeel.
-
Humbly and submissive
-
they dont barter these verses, these signs for a small price.
-
for them there is a reward..
-
Day of Judgement will come soon and account taking will be done fast too. swiftly as well.
-
oh you who have believed: persevere and endure.
-
at a personal level have patience. persevere. do it for the sake of Allah.
-
control your nafs as well.
-
be patient in times of difficulty and hardships
-
internal self control, leads to beauty in worship, good manners, steadfastness, good character.
-
endure as well.
-
have patience altogether.
-
have patience when dealing with others.
-
altogether be firm and patient against the enemy
-
advise and encourage others to be patient. remind one another to be patient.
-
endure internally and externally as well.
-
keep connected to good, tie yourself to good. righteous deeds.
-
remain united and maintain good ties with another.
-
Hadith : The Prophet Sal. said :“Should I tell you about actions with which Allah forgives sins and raises the grade. Performing perfect ablution in unfavourable conditions, the many steps one takes to the Masjid, awaiting prayer after the prayer – for this is Ribaath, for this is Ribaath, for this is Ribaath”
-
Hadith : The Prophet Sal. said :“Ribaath for a day and a night is better than fasting the days of a month and it’s Qiyaam (praying at night) and if one dies in Ribaath, his regular righteous deeds that he used to perform will keep being added to his account and he will receive his provision and he will be saved from the trials of the grave”
